Haubergeon+1 vs Kirins Osode

I know that I shouldn't believe everything that I read, though, I was reading that a Haub+1 is better than an Osode.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Osode isn't that special to jobs that can use haub nq lol. If my bst didn't need chr it would charm with haub!

Edit: maybe not even weaponskills Scor. Haub+1 could be close, even for steel cyclone. It's not quite Adaman harness, but it's darn good. (Shin said if I advertise Haub+1 he'll give me a 20k gil discount).

The reasoning behind this was that while an osode is great, the stats from the Haub+1 outweigh it.

I mean, for WAR or NIN I can see using a Haub+1 full time would be better in the long run due to the Haub+1 providing more consistant jins and rampages.

Depends entirely on job, subjob, context and the rest of your gear. I assume we're speaking strictly weaponskills here, and on NIN and WAR, haub+1 would be the best choice, because you're probably not subbing thf, and you're probably using a multihit weaponskill. SAM/THF favors Osode, though.

Aye, though I don't see myself LVing SAM anytime soon. I've taken WAR NIN and PLD to 75. I just want to focus on SJ's and Merits.

So, I guess what i'm really getting at is I think I might part with my Kirin's Osode and purchase a Haubergeon+1. That's not a crazy idea, right?

Osode looks pretty. Other than that, psh. Oh war/whm in besieged. Lot of mp! I remember when Juvant got odsode. "I'm ok, Roc's horde lullaby won't phase me. I have osode!" (or something like that)

That should be fine, really. Unless you use your WAR for Steel Cyclone, Osode won't do much good. For all the main tasks a ninja has, there's piece that are superior for all them for that job. Tanking is arhat's, solo is SH(+1) and DD would be Haubergeon(+1) and/or Chainmail.

LOL GAVE ME? I had to buy it. Do you know how hard it was for me to save money to buy this damn thing? Also, I am pretty sure SD doesn't wanna fork over the gil to me.

I rarely am /THF. For the few moments that I am /THF the Haub+1 will do.
