You can get a xbox 360 for $50 on ebay if you're lucky. There are a lot of banned ones on there.

Some foolz get their 360's banned my microsoft by doing foolish things like playing leaked/downloaded games on xbox live, weeks before it comes out. If your 360 is banned (I think it has something to do with the Mac address) I believe you're unable to log onto xbox live from it.

$50ish ain't bad for a console. How often did we play games online last gen? You can get a banned xbox and a lot of cheap games from a bargain bin for less than a ps2. If you play your cards right you can get a banned xbox for <$50. If you're the pirate type you can even bur.. buu... buuurrn your own games for it. Pre moded.

I don't disagree with that, but the only games I ever play anymore are anything involving the internet. I hate playing solo, especially since my brother and I no longer live together so I have no one to play games with if not over the internet.

I think that's what drew me into FFXI at the time. I was always a big FF fan, but the community atmosphere kept me there.

That being said, I could never buy something like that and NOT use it over the internet. I understand that this is just my personal opinion, but I can't imagine not being able to play online. The price is right, don't get me wrong, but it takes way too much away from its capabilities to not use it over the internet.
