apparently not only do you need to click to download the program, but you need to run it, while ffxi is active,then input your password and ID, ....

actually... since a few updates ago, POL is now scanning our systems for running processes and threads, presumably to determine if windowers or other 3rd party apps are being used (by looking at what is making API calls/hooks). It's pretty sneaky, but with POL's ToS - we've all agreed to have them checking up on our systems. What can you do? Rolling Eyes

There is some software available that will "block" POL.exe from scanning and reporting on other running processes..it's kind of cumbersome, and I doubt that anyone in our LS really needs to worry about it, since we don't have any 3rd party app users...

On a similar note regarding "2boxing" from the same workstation...I think it is much easier than what I mentioned above to detect... you have more than one POL ID connecting simultaneously from the same IP and hostname... very easy to look for, assuming they log which ID connects from where (and you can bet your sweet ass that they do).
