oh ploid! question from a friend of mine before i forget: is it true the newer model PS3s have removed backwards compatibility? he just wants to know caus he's thinking of buying one, but still wants to play his PS2 games on it.

My friend has the same problem with his ps3 and he got his like a year ago. I can play ps1, ps2, and ps3 games on mine. I've had mine a lot longer than most have though, just haven't really had internet capabilities for it up until now. I thought it was that only the 80 gig can do it but honestly I have no idea. I know my one friend's ps3 doesn't even get wireless for some reason. He has to have it hardwired into his cable modem.

The newer PS3s don't have ps2 bc. They are working on software emulation supposedly. All PS3s have wifi, maybe ved's friend got it set wrong (the ps3 internet setting, pick wireless, and the other required settings. May need to call the internet service provider for some code).

It's not that, the wireless option doesn't even pop up when he goes to select the internet connection. I'll have him call Sony or something.
