From FFXIclopedia, the free Final Fantasy XI encyclopedia:
Alicorn has a passive DoT when it's horn is broken. It cannot be dispelled, but he can be cured to regain his HP. The message "The creature whines contentedly." appears when cured.
Ever tried trading a Dark Ixion Horn for repairs? (I'm a genius :D)

EDIT: I've been having a rly wierd discussion with my friend here at work, how if we're both alone by the time we're such and such age, we'll be each other's last resort. We've been naming our unborn kids and planning on having at least 1 ugly kid and keeping it in the basement named Blaine, after a guy who messed with her feelers here at work. It's Monday, calls are back to back, and we're just bored~

I do, especially after today ;( I had to clean her house, specifically her bathroom ;-; omf
