I'm working on one of my research papers for school and could use some halp!
I have to compare changing demographics in several countries and the US and the issues they are facing because of an aging population.
The other forum I frequent is a different type of demographic than your typical FFXI/Gamer so hopefully between the two I can get some nice rounded data to use. If you don't want to answer certain questions publicly, feel free to PM me or email.

TIA!

1.) Your country of origin (or, if Stateside, your region)

2.) Legal Retirement age

3.) Current Political issues or discussions regarding the aging population (topics can include health care, long-term care, changes to legal retirement age, government pensions or benefits, effects on the workplace, aka 'brain drain')

3-a.) the names, if you are aware, of proponents of these issues/discussions.

4.) Age at which you become eligible for any government pensions.

5.) Current economic issues related to the aging population

6.) Possible effects on your career

7.) (Non-American only) Does your nation have a 'Baby Boom(er)' population? (Namely, a large % of people born in the years following WWII, 1946-1964)

8.) Are you aware of a decline in birth rates in your nation?

8-a.) Are their any government programs in place as an enticement to produce more children?

9.) Any personal experiences in your aging elders (parents, grandparents, extended family) that you wish to share, this can include both positive and negative experiences. Were there any surprises in receiving cares or assistance? Did one thing in particular make a positive or negative impression on you?

1.) Your country of origin
    United Kingdom - Wales.

2.) Legal Retirement age
    65.

3.) Current Political issues or discussions regarding the aging population (topics can include health care, long-term care, changes to legal retirement age, government pensions or benefits, effects on the workplace, aka 'brain drain')
Not so long ago the retirement age was raise from 60 to 65. I do believe it's under discussion to be raised by a further 5 years.

3-a.) the names, if you are aware, of proponents of these issues/discussions.
    ???

4.) Age at which you become eligible for any government pensions.
60/65, varying depending on what year you were born/gender.

5.) Current economic issues related to the aging population.
    ???

6.) Possible effects on your career
There is a Employment Equality Act (2006), whereby it is illegal for companies to discriminate any current/potential employee of their age, young or old.

7.) (Non-American only) Does your nation have a 'Baby Boom(er)' population? (Namely, a large % of people born in the years following WWII, 1946-1964)
    ???

8.) Are you aware of a decline in birth rates in your nation?
    Just keeps soaring ._.

8-a.) Are their any government programs in place as an enticement to produce more children?
Far, far, FAR too many "Family Benefits" which allow for people who don't have a job but have children to get more money, better accomodation and lower taxes. So much so, that the more children you have, the greater you are paid. Some people have children solely to live off of the State. The system fucking sucks for working-class people, but the scum of the earth can milk it for all it's worth to make them do jack-shit and get paid for it.

9.) Any personal experiences in your aging elders (parents, grandparents, extended family) that you wish to share, this can include both positive and negative experiences. Were there any surprises in receiving cares or assistance? Did one thing in particular make a positive or negative impression on you?
    I like cheese.

Additionally, here's a page about Retirement and Pensions in the UK.

1.) Your country of origin (or, if Stateside, your region)
Germany.

2.) Legal Retirement age
I believe its possible at 62+ (early retirement)

3.) Current Political issues or discussions regarding the aging population (topics can include health care, long-term care, changes to legal retirement age, government pensions or benefits, effects on the workplace, aka 'brain drain')
I am not THAT old. I dont think problems like that exist around here... People at my age "have to" take an extra insurance so they're not completely broke when they are unable to work.

4.) Age at which you become eligible for any government pensions.
See 2)

5.) Current economic issues related to the aging population
None?

6.) Possible effects on your career
In what relation?

7.) (Non-American only) Does your nation have a 'Baby Boom(er)' population? (Namely, a large % of people born in the years following WWII, 1946-1964)
Never cared. Check Wiki? <_<

8.) Are you aware of a decline in birth rates in your nation?
See 7)

8-a.) Are their any government programs in place as an enticement to produce more children?
I don't think so.

9.) Any personal experiences in your aging elders (parents, grandparents, extended family) that you wish to share, this can include both positive and negative experiences. Were there any surprises in receiving cares or assistance? Did one thing in particular make a positive or negative impression on you?
My grandma always made a nice soup for me. Then she died. :(

This is the only question that jumped out at me, and yes, our wemon/men were also incredibly horny after months of no sex in WW2. Only ours "starts" at 1948 iirc, though, the difference really doesn't matter.
