I actually heard this story after it happened. She was so upset about the couch that she didn't even notice it until her young child said something, and clearly it's better to deal with socio-political issues in the only way you can get your opinion heard nowadays, sue whoever you can for whatever you can concerning whatever issue you decide to blow completely out of proportion.

In a related story, I shall be lobbying Congress this week in hopes of changing the Saltines box because I am ghastly offended by the word "cracker."

Exactly, there's a pretty vivid line between what isn't socially acceptable and taking something just a bit too far. This didn't have to become a social issue, but now I'm sure that Al Sharpton will be there trying to take advantage/credit for any social implications that arise from this.

Back to my story: apparently cracker isn't a racist word, as I've ascertained from a number of black friends. We also would have accepted honkey and milky. When I asked why nigger was racist and cracker was not, I was told it was because I enslaved thousands of his ancestors. That's right folks, you heard it here first, I'm 175 years old.
