This is the collective term given to the series of battles and border skirmishes waged in the Quon and Mindartian theaters during the Crystal War.

All those wishing to serve would enlist with one of the allied army's three main forces--the Kingdom of San d'Oria, the Republic of Bastok, or the Federation of Windurst--to combat the ever-advancing beastmen confederate comprising the Quon Host of the Orcish Empire, the Quadav Shieldwarriors, the Yagudo Theomilitary, and the Shadowlord's Dark Kindred. However, a volunteer's duties were not always limited to direct engagement with the enemy. Campaign endeavors also extended to tasks such as marches, supply runs, entrenchment and fortification, and cooperative maneuvers with allied forces.

It would not be an exaggeration to say it was through a delicate balance of military prowess and comprehensive strategy that these campaigns were ultimately able to lead the allies to victory.

Crystal War Revisited (03/11/2007)

To commemorate the release of the "Wings of the Goddess" expansion pack, a special event entitled "Crystal War Revisited" will begin on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 08:00 GMT

Image
Which nation do you think was most influential in the outcome of the Crystal War?
San d'Oria and its noble knighthood? Bastok and its formidable artillery? Windurst with its unparalleled magic?
This controversy can only be resolved by you!
Capture crystal fragments from beastman-held positions to attain victory and glory for your nation!

That's right, an anachronistic outbreak of the Crystal War in the modern day! And this time, who better to shoulder the burden of battle than the mighty adventurer!

For instructions on how to play "Crystal War Revisited" and other details, please see the new Topics to be posted on the day the event begins.

Yet another support job hah. Bet it sucks at solo too unless it's unique spells and it's Black Book (blm abilities) are superb. It will have to use white book a lot though I bet (we need cures!). lolhammer

Scholar

The scholar is well versed in white and black magic, and in addition has Scholar-specific white and black magic. It is not a copy of the Red Mage who uses all sorts of magic; instead, this job combines certain job abilities with the casting of magic. In addition, different mage support jobs will have a significant effect on the usefulness of the Scholar.

By the way, they use their books not for physical combat but for magic.
Firstly, there are several abilities which are the basis the actions, "White Grimoire" and "Black Grimoire". These are similar to the Samurai ability Hasso and Seigan: the Scholar maintains a protective posture when using White Grimoire, while Black Grimoire allows offensive use of magic.

Much like Hasso and Seigan, the Scholar can always be under the influnce of White or Black Grimoire, as there is no reuse timer for the two abilities.
When using White Grimoire, the recast time of white magic becomes short, and consumption of MP somewhat decreases. In addition, healing/divine/enhancing skill will be raised greatly, and certain white magic abilities will only be accessible during use of White Grimoire. On the other hand, White Grimoire will cause an increase in black magic MP consumption and longer black magic recast times. These effects are reversed when Black Grimoire is active: bonuses will occur for black magic, while white magic will incur penalties.

Changing between white and black magic abilities is easy, so one must select which ability to use according to circumstances.

When Black Grimoire is used with Black mage as a Scholar's support job, a bonus is added to black magic.

With these mechanisms, it reaches the point which was many a thing where the ground pill and the absorption quantity of the drain increase even with the white mage, the resist are done to the enemy with respect to case and can utilize also para is and so on magic sufficiently.

The scholar's range of other abilities mainly allow the skillful use of different magics. There are several abilities which can be used under either the effects of White or Black Grimoire; however, the reuse timers of these abilities are shared, so changing from one Grimoire to the other will not allow faster reuse of these abilities.

Also fulfillment of contract of the summons loyal retainer has shared reuse interval in the same way, but in case of the scholar there is a mechanism which saves this recast. For example, assuming that recast had the ability of 4 parts, when if 1 time you use, 4 minutes it does not wait normal ability, you cannot use the next, but in case of the scholar because recast can be saved up to maximum of 3, continuing ability, 3 times to use, also kind of it is possible.

Scholar specific magic: "The magic which gives" the magic the powerful slip damage which "changes the weather of the party member of the object" Changes the weather as for the magic which was seen the eye which changes is not the case that, but the actual weather how that, due to this magic the weather takes precedence. Not only on-target hit ratio and the damage of magic, are not moved also it is possible with only the weather of specification to move the effect of the arms which.

Reads pretty neat ...

Mog House

The macro pallet will be expanded to 4000 buttons!
Gobbiebag capacity will be increased to 70 items!
Players will be able to invite people to their Mog Houses! (We know this to be true)
During the final Einherjar battle, the only way to evade "His" special attack is to kneel and "pray".

Image

Please note that these are transcripts from Babelfish from a JP website, so whilst the translations are 100% correct, I'm sure that the "4000 buttons" means 4000 characters (Changing the Macro system at long fucking last??????). Also, wtf at the bundle of hay in the corner... Is that where all my sheeps are kept at night, somewhere for them to sleep other than in my bed omg... And lol at 5/5 Ares.

Cavernous Maw

ヴァナ "the mouth of withdrawal (Cavernous Maw)" exists in the every place of ディール. Using "the mouth of withdrawal" to movement of the present world and the past world. Cost is not required for this movement.

Standardization of the money is not assured time base completely,, but there are no times when the venture person uses the old money with past Vana'diel. *Usual gill enabled.

However being to be under wartime, there is no normal store and an auction place. *There is a rental house and a home delivery.

As for details on the Conquest, it's a lot more scattered, but here's some info...

    - ToAU has Sanction, where the number of Besiege wins increases the potency of the Exp you gain from having the Sanction. Well, now which ever country has domination in a certain zone, all members of that country will gain benefit it thier country owns the region.
    - Assaults are 3-person minimum, new WoG Assault-type things are soloable.

Image

New Conquest Map... Note that there are different region dots on this map, that Beastmen now have their own notation dot, and there's a bar under the highlighted dot ... What for, who knows... Maybe this is Beseiged on a larger scale...

Conquest seems to be a hell of a lot more Mission-based and driven, lots of emphasis on Missions through-out all translations, meaning that there's a shitload more to push forward.

Oh, and Mages use MP, Tanks require HP, Melee use TP to WS ... Dancer's use TP to ... Dance. Converting Tactical Points into various moves to do various things (One given example is that the first move is called a 'Step', where you pick what move you want to do, then they assign it to a person, then use 'Finishing Blow' with TP, which will then have an effect on either than Person or the Mob, depending on job type, mob, scenario etc ... Seems like a Battle-version of Blu.

New jobs seem to be situational. Nothing steady atm :/
