Well look at it like this, the PS3 you have now is 100% BC out of the box, not 100% down the line adding more games each firmware update. I hope this means there will be more blu ray movies in stores. I hate hunting for them (blu ray players going down also. Getting very cheap to make).
Edit: Also that sony card deal is still effective, but now they changed it from $150 to $100. Although some people still have it locked at $150 if they registered before they changed it (example This thread starting at post 27). Also there is a new list of 5 free blu ray movies you can pick from for buying any blu ray player (including PS3). So the people that held onto their discount is getting a $250 40gb ps3 and 5 free blu ray movies.
Blu ray movies deal.
The original promo has ended, and a new one has been added due to overwhelming popularity. Damnit, I wish The Prestige was in the original offer for me to grab. ><
Update. 399 Euro in UK, Italy, Germany, etc. That 489 was a bundle with fifa, and most likely something else. Australia is $700 something. Canada is $3,000 because they have to spend around 9x more money to buy the same things US people buy (baiting Safer, I know the currency exchange rate is starting to equalize between canada and usa).
Wish I could sell my collectors edition PS3 for this one. Also I hear Spiderman3 sucked but I just want it because it looks good in HD. Will probably buy it. Darn Transformers for not being in Blu Ray, darn HD-DVD those punks. So I bought it for DVD, still looks good upscaled but not as good as the HD 1080p trailer I downloaded off PSN. Those looked and sounded sick. I hate this format war crap leaking into movies (a hobby I tried to take up but they take too long to end. I'm no reader so screw collecting books. Games are the only hobby for me).
Spiderman 3
Transformers on dvd (not a HD format!!!!!!!!!)
Michael Bay Responds to Paramount's Decision: "No Transformers 2 for Me!"
Paramount The director behind such films as 'Bad Boys', 'Pearl Harbor', and the recent 'Transformers' movie is upset by Paramount's decision to drop support for Blu-ray. On a post on his personal web forum entitled, "Paramount pisses me off!", Michael Bay says, "I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!" It appears the accountants who thought the $150M was a good deal didn't take into account that they would lose one of their star directors.
