What is it with you comparing all rpgs to Oblivion. Dark Souls is like a grown up Zelda if anything. The game isn't hard, just unforgiving. You played FFXI you should have no problem playing skillfully. You just can't charge into places, and you gotta use your abilities, like shield, and 2hand stance.

You hit the nail on the head, I think. I actually showed the game to a friend over the weekend and his first comment was that it reminded him of Zelda. Patience is definitely a virtue in this game. Even the weakest enemy can fuck you up if you just charge in guns a blazing. I love the challenge of it, most games are too easy. Not that I want an unbeatable game but I don't want to breeze through shit either.

I'm surprised it didn't come out on PC. They have it for Xbox even though Demon Souls was PS3 only.

The whole Oblivion thing is because I hate creating your own character, choosing classes etc. Like in Dragon Age I just always used whatever the default was, and even that game gets a little painful on the role playing side.
I'd rather just run in, mash square and keep the game going. I'm not faulting on Dildo for enjoying that part of fighting, it's just not my style. I like to run through games and be done with them is all. And then afterwards if I liked the mechanics to the game I'll go back and do all the side quests I missed.

Ok yeah, you'd hate this game. Especially if someone raid your world and hunt you for a reward.

For me though, the sense of accomplishment is so rewarding. You feel like a baws when you get stuff done. When I fail, I totally blame myself too.

you'd despise chrono trigger; I love that game but there's so many sidequests it's absurd

Speaking of games, the music I posted in the other thread inspired me. Just started FFX again.

I play in undead/soul form like 99.9% of the time to avoid this. Doesn't seem to be any downside to it in Dark Souls, unlike in Demon Souls where your hp was halved.

In demon's souls you could get a ring and get a good chunk of your HP back. So there was no downside pretty much. I always used that ring.

I never could get hooked on Oblivion. Idk why. Maybe all the sidequests distracted me from the actual story.

Mithra in Oblivion, there's also a whm armor, no adaburk though. Man if people can recreate ffxi's world in oblivion that would be awesome. It shouldn't be taxing since the maps in ffxi are so simple and not open world. Skyrim coming soon though. Time to mess with mods for two weeks as I wait on Saints Row The Third!

Going to keep looking. There's no way that no one modded a adaburk in this game, and I'll look up a ridill that actually hit 2 - 3 times too.

Edit: No haub just whm and this lame noob level armor.

Maybe Skyrim will get it. Some of the FFXI gear still look cooler than most armor in oblivion.
