Got done with surgery like 3 hrs ago; shoulder fix....amazing how painless it is right now. Still groggy but I'm doin ok, sux that I can only use 1 hand tho, and it isn't my dominant hand. Jus lettin ya know I'm alive.

I've heard that when one is unable to use his dominant hand the other adapts quickly; what is the prognosis on regaining use of the other hand/how long until then?

I know kids can change writing hands fast since they're brains are still in plastic state and can adapt easily. For old people it will be very difficult.

You going to have to go through a lot of physio?
My grandmother just had surgery on her leg and she's been going a couple times a week. It really scary to lose the use of an arm/leg, even if just temperary.

yeah therapy sometime after but idk when, 6-8 weeks recovery. as my dr. phrased it, I'll be able to throw a fastball in 6 months so quite some time. arm hurts a lot more this morning so I'm takin hydros to kill that.

Oh dang, I didn't know you lost the use of the arm for now, thought you couldn't use it due to surgery healing and maybe having it wrapped up. Hope you get it back quick.
