K, so I went to see this movie last night, and imo it was fkn awesome. I went with my sister, and she didn't seem to like it, mostly because of the ending. All in all, it was a very interesting concept, and the film producers took a risk not letting any information out until the release. In just a few short days, the film made over 50 million, whereas the film budget was 30mil.

Not too shabby.

I don't agree with Ploid's view of Transformers, however. I thought the film was awesome, and I'm not going along with all the hype that was put out to promote the film. I didn't see it in theaters, I waited until it came out on DVD. Not only that, but this was the first time I actually ever saw anything that involved Tranformers. I wasn't interested in them as a kid, I was more of a TMNT fan. So this being a first time for me, I thought it went really well.

At any rate, if you're a film buff, I definitely recommend seeing Cloverfield. :cat:

HEY! You could have been a TMNT fan and a Transformers fan! Why hate, could have had the best of both worlds, especially with the transforming ninja turtles "action figures". Turn from real turtles to the TMNT. I think it was called ooze or something, showing how they changed from the normal to the TMNT, even splinter and shredder was in on it.

Rob (the main, adorable guy :>) was working for the company that manufactured Slusho, and in the movie he was moving to head as VP for that company. That's how it plays into it. :>

It makes no sense how people can come up with stuff like this-
Quote:
Tagruato is a Japanese mining company owned by Ganu Yoshida with oil rigs in the Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, and Indian using what they call "groundbreaking deep-sea drilling technology". Tagruato also own subsidiaries that deal in deep-sea genetic research (Yoshida Medical Research), advancing technology (Bold Futura), paraffin wax byproducts from their Petroleum reservoir (ParafFun! Wax Distributors), and a cold beverage company called Slusho!. The Tagruato corporation recently announced that one of their Atlantic Ocean oil rigs at Chuai Station has suffered an unknown altercation that "an eco-terror cell is responsible for the disturbance."

just from the subtle references and hints in the movie (unless I'm missing something here :dunno: )

And that's all I needed to enjoy the film. I love that scene where she bent over the hood of the car, I almost fucked my date in the theatre then and there.

But yeah, I liked the movie in general, but it could have done with some more robots fucking eachother up.

There was a lot of viral marketing that went on for the movie, like the link posted above, that was supposed to give hints about how the situation occured. Another example is all the main characters have myspace pages that if you dig around on also have some information, like rob's page talks about his upcoming interview with said JP company.
