for the longest time growing up, i never understood the word douche nor any of its connatations

reason for this is because in arabic douche (pronounced the same way) means a shower,
so saying things like, "im going to take a douche now" would be commonplace (albiet the whole sentance would be in arabic so as to make sense grammatically)

i think i learned what it was in grade 9 french class, ..
