Space Shuttle Atlantis launched yesterday at 7:38 pm from the Kennedy Space Center, and I had one of the best views I've had since working there. Enjoy the photo!

The thought of one day being in there doing that must be mind blowing.

I'd be scared out of my mind. But this is right up Tyaric's alley. Jumping out of planes, climbing on the side of skyscrapers with no harness, jumping from roof to roof after climbing, and going up in a space shuttle. Man I'm such a scardy cat. Much respect to you dare devils.

Looking like sometime in 2015, or at least thats when I will start my training (hopefully). Glad I have an extreme sense of patience....

In the mean time I have to do the following things:
1) Finish my masters degree (Will be completed in August)
2) Get my private pilots license with an instrument rating
3) Become SCUBA tech diver certified (Already advanced certified, just need rescue diver, then tech diver)
4) Demonstrate leadership roles and responsibilities (Already the lead EE for Discovery)
5) Get my weight under 210 pounds (Down to 225 now, but its damn hard)

So thats it in a nutshell, although it still makes me sad that I will never get the chance to fly on the craft that I so dearly love. I'll just have to settle for the giant phallic looking "Ares I" and "Orion" system.
