So TiVo.
Idk what that is but I know it records stuff.
But I also read that it like does other stuff, and that other stuff is paid for in the monthly subscription.
I do not want that other stuff.
I just simply want the recordingness of the TiVo for something when I work Saturday nights (it's not porn).
I want to record my porn but that's all I need it to do.
Is there a TiVo that you don't need to pay for a monthly subscription/just get basic functionality?
And while you're doing all the work for me, find me where to buy it and you will promptly be given a thanks.

Also I have two Directv DVRs for my house atm. May get one in all 5 rooms soon.

You can set up a HTPC (Home Theater PC) to be a dvr (digital Video Recorder). Tivo is very old, I'm surprised they are still in business.

Other than that you can get a dvr from your cable company for 500$ or rent it for like 20$/month.

I can't get a dvr in my current apartment building. It only gets cable and nothing else works.
And its not a tv show. It's movies and interviews of the movies I need for a class that only come on at a certain time.

So someone do all the work for me.

rogers/shaw/whoever should have cable dvr's.. they are a rip off to rent but I'm sure you could get one
download from internet for free sounds like your best choice though

The interviews I wouldn't be able to find on the net though.

I have a DVD burner (not pc, an actual one) that you can use...I'd even give you the discs for free. But you'd have to come get it cause I still am not allowed to drive.

So is their like no basic digital recorder with no monthly payments?
