Last night, the forums were taken out by someone. I couldn't really figure out what happened, so I just reinstalled it and put a backup of the database in place. Some newer posts might have gone missing, but it should be back to working normally. (It's also the new version of phpBB now.)

Easier said than done. This server runs a very outdated and unmaintained version of server optimized linux. I am hesitating to update it because once it goes down for any reason it stays down forever. I do not have any means to physically access the server at all.

I don't think it went especially against the eden forums. My server had some porn movies on it I've never uploaded and a weird server daemon i've never installed.
I deleted the server daemon, changed some things here and there and kept the porn, overall it was a decent deal.

lol, man I'm glad there are computer masters like you around. Reading what you explained sounded like you were working magic to me. Bravo man, don't know what I'd do without eden forums. Just imagine if the whole internet was taken out. I don't need tv, I dont need radio, I don't need phones, but I need google.

There is nothing magic about noticing unusual things on a machine you've had for several years.
If this server really goes down one day I'll host eden forums at home.
