I wasn't going to do MMORPG again, but I'll probably at least do it for 2 months just to explore the newness of it. Hope there's like a trial, but I'd still have to buy the disk. Maybe SE learned a few things with salvage, assault, etc and take the camping out of it.

Seriously, though, this looks promising to me. My main gripe with FFXI is that I ran out of things to do. However I love the combat system, the look, jobs, and their great way of adding good storylines to the game. SE has always been great with combat systems imo, and that's a defining point for an MMO. For the first time in ages, I'm actually looking forward to being a level 1 nub and exploring a new online world.

maybe ... you would think eventually most xi players would port over or switch
maybe you wont have to start over maybe you will be able to import your 11 character to 14
squares press conference is tomorrow 6pm est and you can watch it streaming if you dont get g4.

I hope the system is nothing like ffxi's. Faster moving characters, more fluid animation, less zoning, better armor system, less sidegrades, redone drop system, better class upgrades per level not traits+spells+ja etc. I'll be watching it but I want this to be a reimagined ff mmorpg, not a graphics update to break away from the old code of ffxi. Less depending on large groups, more fun solo and small groups, better endgame.

They said they wouldn't call it a ff number. It was believed to be given it's own name. Hence Rapture.
