I used to be in a competition with an office mate. Minesweeper on difficult level.
The way it went was we had to keep playing until we beat the others time. So he would play nonstop for a week until he beat my time, then 10 minutes later I beat his time. It drove him insane... literally. They eventually had to put him in anger management over this.
How I did it.... wait until you have 1 square left to uncover, let the time scroll over 999 and it goes back to zero. Then I would click on the last square a few seconds before his best time. Winner.
