Sharkrunners HQ (Where you check your profile, notifications, join groups, and accept duals) http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/sh ... rs-hq.html

So after signing up, you pick a Research Team and start off with a baby boat, a basic crew, and no equipment, by diving while within range of either the Tiger Sharks or Gray Reef Sharks you earn money and accomplishments (which grant you more money). Each successful dive gives you the ability to 'skill up' your divers. Each dive causes them to tire out, so the more 'skill ups' they do, means more money in your pocket and more successful dives.

There are 3 main ports in the game, each has something different as far as available divers (people who watch Discovery Channel or Sharkweek will recognize most of them as Real People) you can also hire specialists who earn you more money per dive. Once you get the hang of it, you can challenge someone to a dual (there are many many kinds) as well as set up rivalries, and accept SRP or Special Research Projects, which again, net you more money. You also have the option of purchasing varying equipments, bigger boats, and upgrades for your boat.

Once you get rank10 (in SRP) you get the opportunity to visit the secret port, the joke being that is the port the top secret Thin Mint Pirating Operation is based. You can also participate by doing ORI (Or Ocean Reclamation Initiative) where you donate your money to make a part of the ocean a preserve, and if someone from your institution dives there, they get a 10% bonus to their research money earned.
If anyone decides to play, let me know and we'll invite you to our group ^^
Oh, and be careful or.....

About Sharkrunners
Sharkrunners is a game of oceanic exploration and high stakes shark research. Players take on the role of sharkrunners: daring and adventurous marine biologists who seek to learn as much as possible about sharks through advanced observation techniques.
Real-world telemetry data provides the position and movement of actual sharks in Sharkrunners, every shark that players encounter corresponds to a real shark out in the actual ocean.
