A question to the keen at mind

wot does the little dot beside a thread topic mean? sometimes its there, sometimes its not!!!!!!!!
my theory is that whenever you read a thread, but dont post in it, the dot appears indicating you've read it...
i'll now post in every thread to test my theory, if no dots appear, i'll be the victor!

Looks like the dot appears when you make a post in that thread. So every single thread probably has a dot on Safer's view of the forums.

Ladies and Gentlemen before me, i present to you my findings as i have uncovered the truth behind the mysterious dots!!
with the aid of my trusty companion, Dr. Dreamer of the Dark, we bring before you conclusive results that will both shock and awe you.
dont be afraid, but rather accept this new age of enlightenment!
according to studies just concluded thanks to my initiation of the Scientific Progress Affecting Messageboards Project, we find the following results:
The dot appears whenever a thread has been marked read, and the user has posted a meaningful and intelligent* reply!!!
Thank you! i'll be happy to entertain any questions you may have~
*the definition of meaningful and intelligent may vary depending on where you live , and is subject to individual ideals and morals... dont playa h8 y0

My conclusion by only two posts. Dots mean you posted in the topic. You fail Safer.

Though you may have reached the same conclusion as Safer, your 'conclusion' was based highly on speculation whereas his was a thorough scientific experiment with a logical outcome.
