Went to play randomly last night. New patch apparently came out sometime. Played through most of Act 3 and got enough of the new crafting mat to make 6 items. Only found one of the new recipes. The items made are account bound and none were good for my mnk so... complete waste. Did get 3 legendaries so, they might have upped the drop rate. 2 were trash though, might get a few mil from the 3rd. The apparently increased the exp gain with the Monster Power modes and there is pvp now (no clue how that works).

Basically, same timesink of a game with a few new twists.

New hero: The Crusader, meele character with shield and swords / flails (i.e. Paladin).
One new Act: Supposedly much more of a "dark feel"
New level cap (70): new skills and runes.
Loot runs: Entirely randomized dungeons that take 15-20minutes to complete (for endgame).
Expanded paragon system: Paragon levels are now account wide (applies to all characters), no more cap.
Loot 2.0: Modified loot-system, guaranteed legendary drops from first boss kills and a new system called "smart drops", loot will drop less but the drops will be better and more meaningful for you.
Transmogrification: Change the look of your stuff but keep the stats (see WoW).
The Mystic: Artisan that allows you to re-attribute the stats of your items.

Story wise, it's the Angel of Death messing things up : Takes place in Westmarch and it takes influence from western Gothic locations, more of a medieval setting.

Comparing original D3 and the expansion :
- in Act 3 you'd find 256 common, 399 blue, 275 yellow and one legendary.
- In Reaper of Souls, it could be 73 white items, 266 blues, 83 yellow items and 6 legendaries (they will be "build changers", example with wizard weapon: summon more hydras)

I'd get back into this maybe, for my D2 game-style fix, but I've been playing Path of Exile again and tearing shit up on my summoner build. Spectres are crazy nuts.

Yeah, I liked PoE more. I started a dual totem sparker again, but I haven't played that since I started messing with GW2 again. By the time I go back to PoE so many new items and stuff will be in the game. Heck I might get a free full respec if they mess with Witch tree. I was hoping I'd get a full respec since my witch went over into ranger area a bit. Didn't get it.

The thing about PoE is eventually I'll get something useful. Though I usually waste the currency stuff on trying to 6 link chests and making sure I have 4 linked other stuff a bit too often.

I had the option for a free full respec on my witch when I started playing again a few days ago. Didn't use it but I did make some minor changes. I keep messing with Chaos Inocculation. I've gotten it and then gotten rid of it 2 or 3 times now. Its nice but it can be rough too without any life. I need to boost my shield more.

So.... after quitting FFXIV and going back to GW2 about a month ago, I finally finished another gw2 legendary (3rd) and have taken a short break from Gw2. Anyways, I've been playing D3 during this time.

In about two days I leveled Crusader from 0-70. High level gems in socketed weapons/helm (for exp) make it pretty quick. but thats nothing new. Since 70, i've been running rifts and bounties for Crusader gear and I've already surpassed my monk in damage and survivability. They've really upped the drop rates of legendaries it seems. I typically get at least 1 per rift and about 4-5 an hour plus a few legendary/set item plans. There will always be part of me that hates D3 for what it was at the start but they seem to be turning it around. I've been having some fun with it and there are some pretty unique builds based of certain legendaries and their special bonuses.
