Customs doesn't apply to that. They can shove their fingers up your ass if they think you might have some blow up there, so I'm sure they'd laugh in your face if you even tried to say something like that to the BBB about it (again, customs only is present at the airport, not employees of it).

There's no way an airline has the authority to make such a decision just based on how they feel about it.

I'm not defending them in any way, like I said it's retarded. I'm sure, however, that for whatever reason (current statute based on previous experience) they did what they did there was some sort of backing for their decision.
