I think what struck me most about FF7 the first time I played was the FMV's. It was also the first game I ever played where I felt there was "characters" instead of "people on the screen." That story was great, and I remember some things being just awe-inspiring. First time I played through the part where you get kicked out of the Gold Saucer and into the Desert Prison (where you fight Dyne) I leveled myself up way beyond what was reasonable all because I couldn't find a way to exit the screen there somewhere and just kept fighting over..and over...and over....and over. My dudes were so strong it was basically unfair for the next couple hours of the game.

I really should play it again, I actually have the original version of the game, black PS1 case and all. One of the first versions of the game because it still has a misprint on the back cover. If you look closely where the arrow is, you'll see that the "i" in "masterpiece" is floating over the R and P. Evidently it's worth some money as a result.

I wonder if that's worth something on Ebay, or whatever the cool kids use for online auctions these days.

Last I played it was when I was doing cop missions for sky or something with Bainerr Baiiner, forgot how he spelled his name.

Caught myself watching it more as of recent. I watch the big matches sometimes if they're on but I have a very, very difficult time sitting through an entire match.
