FF XIII post release thread. Was it worth the wait?

Some people have started to notice that there are other games around!

Admittedly, I agree with a lot of it. I just beat the game and I found myself looking for the story.

Also I do wish that there were more options for...well, a lot of things.

World map I would give my right arm for, getting around is such a pain in the ass.

"The battle system is fun". I said the same thing when I started. It IS fkn stupid that you can't control your chars. Beyond frustrating sometimes when I can't get a raise for no reason.

From what I've heard so far it sounds like playing ffxiii is more like watching a movie then playing a game. Prolly won't end up getting it now

Now the wait for the International version where they fix a lot of things, add side quests, Give you full control of the party, save your paradigm settings with team setups, monster challenge mode (think ff10 international Monster Arena, FF7 monster tournament), add hunts all throughout the game not just Grand Pulse, and fix the order of the story telling.

Spoiler if you haven't beat the game (new order of the story telling that's for the better?)

-------------------------------------
The story had great potential, but SE screwed the pooch with how and where everything should have started.

If the game started on Gran Pulse, with you needing to get to Cocoon, it would have been better. Imagine a story where you start off on Pulse, waking up from a crystal stasis hundreds of years after the fall of its civilization. You are the only two humans left. You explore ruined cities with rusted remnants of once high technology. Think Dark Tower. You are told by the Pulse Fal'cie that awakened you that in order to restore Pulse to it's once former glory you have to destroy Cocoon to recall the Maker. After arriving on Cocoon you learn it's inhabitants are actually the refugees of Pulse, who took to the sky after the cataclysm that befell Pulse. But they've become lazy, soulless humans. The Cocoon Fal'cie have sheltered them too long. They are corrupt and a worthy sacrifice to recall the Maker. Except the more you explore Cocoon, and as a few of its residents join your party (outcast because they too have been made Pulse L'cie by a dormant Pulse remnant on Cocoon) you come to realize that while Cocoon itself must be destroyed, the people themselves are worth saving. You and your Pulse native partner make the ultimate sacrifice, giving yourselves up to Ragnarok in order to create a bridge from Cocoon back to Pulse, destroying the manipulative Cocoon Fal'cie in the process.

That story, while not much different from the real story, would have been leagues better. Pulse is simply a more interesting world than sterile Cocoon. Instead of the game being a mission to save (but ultimately destroy) boring Cocoon, it would be about restoring the awesome Gran Pulse and in turn, humanity. Vanille and Fang would be infinitely more sympathetic characters. And while the rest of your crew are outcasts from Cocoon, they're actually rediscovering their humanity by destroying the machines that have been controlling and sheltering mankind all these hundreds of years.
Basically, decent idea Square, horrible execution.

wow, you're right. That would have made it 100 times better I think. Plus the game really didn't seem very long to me like those ones did.

D.ring drop, or Thief knife drop. There's rare items that hardly drop off these huge turtles. You have to fight them over and over and over and over.

I'm into any chick but I like chicks with brown skin a lot more. Like cars I can appreciate any kind of girl, not to into skinny, and white white girls though. The chicks in cosplay and that gif I posted are very skinny.

Edit: looking at my gif post again it makes it seem like I'm saying that I heart the picture Sure posted. I merely happened to cross that gif on a forum and she just happen to be doing a heart symbol with her hands. Purely coincidental.

Edit 2: Zoey is exempt from my white white, and skinny rule. Image

I like darker skin, but not really into black chicks. Brunette is always a bonus.

Also I think porn give people a bad sample of black girls. Pretty black girls don't do porn, takes a lot for the black girls in porn to do it I'm sure. The climate for them are better in movies, but black girls get limited roles, and you'll see more loud big black girl roles than hawt black girl roles. Even Halle Berry struggled. But if a black girl is pretty and want easy money, they are better off hooking up with someone with money and they think looks good. Black girls got the best game, also they are pretty much black widows. The black girls that don't play the game and are actually nice are very awesome though.
