Not that this relates, but I always thought it was "Fes" in spite of the fact that it sounds like "Fez."

I was under the impression that they called him that because his name stands for foreign exchange student (I might be wrong), which is an awesome nickname btw. Too bad the only really likeable character on the show is Hyde. And Jackie, because she is sexy as hell. A lot of people tell me I look/act like Eric, which ironically is my name despite the fact that I don't see the same things others say. He just doesn't have that Vedder wit!

So yeah, I'm gonna go with...

your right his name is spelled "Fes" and the one time we hear his "real name" it is covered over by a bell that lasts like 30 sec. but all he did was just say the name of everyone on the show
