We're in the process of removing the on-use benefits of the Mantra of Healing rune, Boon of Protection. The hotfix change is:

Amount of damage absorbed is now capped at the amount of healing provided by Mantra of Healing in the first 3 seconds after activation

We recommend discontinuing its use until the rune is replaced with a new rune and mechanic in a future patch.

The Boon of Protection rune was approximately ten times over its budget on the benefits it provided, and it was quite simply a mistake on our part to let the rune ship as it was. We don't intend to take these quick and drastic measures often, but considering the severity of the issue, we felt it important to correct it swiftly.

We're shooting to post a full list of recent hotfixes tomorrow, and will be looking to answer questions once that's live.

Edit: Last look at pimp mega boss DH

Also Nightwing (Kobunkun in Diablo 3) beat inferno yesterday (he's a DH) with two wizards that freeze locked diablo. So he's lucky that he got the Inferno win which should be mega rare now.

I'm surprised the Mantra of Evasion didn't get nerfed, I stuck with that one the entire time and barely ever got hit.

I also looked into it despite being at work cause work sucks (and my boss is on vacation). The fix to that one rune boon of protection is all I've found. I hadn't been using it so no nerf for me (yet).

This reminds me of ffxi. Rng was my first job...then the rng nerf happened.

Thats what i use still in hell. On use effect puts me over 50% and I'm around 35-40% the rest of the time.

You guys are so much higher than I am level-wise still. Had a medicine issue this morning so had to come home from work; gg side effects. Maybe I'll get to play a bit during the day today.

So,
You guys that are playing already, rate it 1-10 so I can base purchasing it on your recommendations??
Is it the kind of game you have to play a lot to get anywhere? Seems like VD is trying to play catch up already, so if I were to jump in now, I would have no chance of catching up?

I'll give it an 8.5 and part of my dislike is based on my like of the D2 system. Some of the changes are good but I liked the skill system in D2 better. D3 seems more casual and more forgiving of sub-par builds. So far i've played about 70 hrs on monk only and have half a level to 60, which is the current cap. I feel like I've gotten my money's worth and I'm not done yet.

As far as playing catch up if you were to jump in now, we could always start new jobs to join you. Between Nightwing and Dye, I'm thinking I should level Demon Hunter.

I'm less biased because Ive never played Diablo before, I thought it was okay. Can get incredibly boring cuz its just constantly point, click, pick up loot, repeat. There's next to no side quests, although the "events" can be a bit fun. Game just straight up ends when you beat it.
Me specifically, I'm not the target audience. I did like the game but for me its not a game to play over and over again.

Haste seems very useful for WD's spells and dot damage per tick. 7k damage per tick on stuff.

I actually got my char a bit better. The thing about this is that they are definitely coming out with expansions for it. I would rate it the same as Dhil for basically the same reason. I miss runes ;[

Now to go back and farm hell this weekend for inferno gear. At first I didn't think I'd get through hell. Gear seems to make all the difference. I can survive pretty well on getting hit in inferno with only 16k hp right now. If I get more hp, and int that would be nice.

Have a WHM in the RNG/DD party down in the line of fire to help keep them alive after Spear inevitably hits them because they're idiots with tiny attention spans.
