So I got the Resistance 2 open beta and thought I'd give my impressions on it. It's shareable with other ps3's (I got it on my main account sorry ora). I only played Co-op so far, and it's amazing. It's like dynamis in a complex map that change each time you play it (different objectives, different enemy placements/spawns, and different paths you are to take). The 3 jobs are in a nicely done: *The tanks need the spec-ops, and the medics. The tanks have a lot of HP and drink a lot of ammo. You need the medic, and spec-ops to replenish them both. So far my tank is level 2 and you get a chaingun with a shield alt button (think invincible almost when you are receiving fire from the front). For the shield and ammo you have to have a spec-ops be ammo whore (I already hear "Ammo please!" "I need Ammo spec-ops!!". The tank can get damage mitigation items from the store. You can buy them with some kind of items/points you obtain during raids. *The medics can hold their own, but could do better backing up a warmachine(tank) while he drain enemies for energy (energy used to cure your team), and raising people is almost instant as a medic. They can do a AOE cure around them, or shoot the aoe cure if they're targeting a friendly. Right now my medic don't need spec ops much, but I got a new gun when I hit level 3 I think. I haven't tried it yet. Medics are a good active class in this game. They are no where near as boring as a rpg mage that can't fight nothing, but sit there and tend to the parties only with the occasional debuff on a enemy. The Spec-ops is the job I chose to take up far. I wuv it. It has a far scope so I can snipe with a burst shot assault rifle. The rifle can also send a charge that stops and starts shocking the enemies around it. You give everyone in your team ammo by throwing it at them or dropping it. They don't get ammo from anything else other than boss fights that are scattered throughout the zone. Spec-ops is a fragile DD as well. The lowest HP, and no defenses means you gotta stay hidden and out of the way while supplying the tank with his ammo drink. Spec ops also get a cloak where he can be invisible. I don't have it but I saw a fellow spec ops use it. I guess this is the equivalent of -enmity. Do a lot of damage, and use it if you grab attention. There is a store in the game where you can buy items that increase your abilities and such. Like for spec ops there is a item you can buy that increase the amount of ammo people get from each of your ammo boxes. Dropping ammo boxes is limited and on a timer. You can store 2 drops, and it constantly recharges the timer if you aren't maxed at 2. Maybe there's an item to increase the charges, I'm mostly focused on dropping ammo than shooting at the moment. What else, oh the game looks awesome. There can be 100 enemies, and even more bullets on the screen and you don't get slowdown. There are some zombie like mobs that charge at you swinging their arms and crap. There's a lot going on and you have to keep up with your role to keep the group successful. There is a trophy that you get for completing so many levels without dying. Those types of trophies are going to be reserved for the best clans. When things are going good, and leaders are giving orders the game is so awesome. I had a game where I was the only tank, and I had around 2 spec ops on my team. I kept asking for ammo but I guess they didn't know how to use it. That was so horrible, I wasn't getting good exp because we were moving so slow, and the spec ops were playing their own game shooting things. Most of the exp come from bosses and completing objectives I think, and they settled for slow chicken feed. 20,000 exp is the most I got out of one level. This beta will continue on even after the game is launched. They should put it up on the PSN store as a demo. You get one competitive MP level, and one co-op level (but it never plays the same twice it seems). Oh the party system is even better now. So slick and good. The lobby is great, and everything runs like it's a finished product. Edit: Also two people can play on the same console and do offline co-op, and online co-op (PvE). The same for competitive play mode too (PvP). Competitive MP (Chicago 6-60 player map) Competitive MP (San Francisco ) Competitive MP (Orick, CA 6-60 player map) |

I played my first 30 vs 30 game. It had a war feeling to it. So many people, this game is impressive. Almost making me forget about my thirst for Killzone. Also I ding'd level 7. Got some cool looking Kotes at level 6 (looked like black shiny kotes). It decreases my reload speed. I empty out a lot of bullets, and I spit ammo out of my mouth for other people, so that's gotta be a good piece of equipment for special ops. No one is criticizing my armor choices... yet. I get something new at level 8. What am I doing! Edit: Bad pull (wipe to a swarm of grunts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7VJ1_a7Zac |

Yea. Create a new user on the PS3. Then go to sign up for psn. When you're at that screen say you want to use an existing account. For the login enter (Email): tobyellis@gmail.com Password: lolffxii1 (yea I know, one too many i's) While logged in as Ploid3 go to the playstation store and go to the download list. You'll see the beta there. When you're finish with the beta deactivate the account from your console from the account management as Ploid3. It sounds complicated but it's not. As for LittleBigPlanet I looked everywhere and I couldn't find it yesterday. I don't want to order it online. I'll be getting it around the launch of Resistance2 and the president vote thing. Both are on Oct. 4th. |

EXP burn. Literally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoEbmGm_MNk 4 special ops + 1 medic + 1 burning car = super fast exp See the special ops throw the medic ammo, which he use to cure bomb them, and when he cure them he get exp for healing their lost exp. The car do'nt stop burning so as long as you got a few spec ops friends you can get super fast exp as a medic. Oh and I saw a decked out tank today. The dude got so much exp and he was a beast in the fights. I think his armor allow him to use less bullets because i didn't have to give him too much ammo. I wish all tanks were like that. I look froward to getting a high level tank like that. Looks so pimp. All I seen for spec ops was a black backpack . I saw a high level medic with a ghost busters like back pack for his cure stream. I'm not sure how effective the mines are but you only get 2, with a cool down of about 30 seconds or less (spec ops leak ammo like red mages leak mp when they have refresh up). I need to make a sprint to level 18 for auger, fareye would be neat but the marksman is a good far ranged weapon. Level 28 will be interesting with Bellock (grenade launcher and flame spitter alt). Btw Spec Ops is the only way to be black in this game. I guess that's why I gravitated towards it. Edit: Spec Ops Level 1:Marksmen The modified Chimeran sniper rifle fires multiple ion bursts across great distances. Its secondary fire shoots out electrostatic orbs that damage all nearby enemies. Level 1: Prototype Ammo Creates ammo kits containing advanced prototype ammunition one of which is instantly given to the berserker. This ammo inflicts additional damage for the durration of the berserk and also refills all primary and secondary munitions. Level 2: Bullseye The chimeran Battle rifle shoots homing tags that cause subsequent shots to hit the tagged target. Use the secondary fire to shoot a homing flag then finish off the target with the primary fire. Level 4: Invisibility Berserk Renders the Player invisible unless taking dame or interacting with a switch or console. Level 6: Kinetic Gloves The spec ops Kinetic Gloves give you faster reload on all weapons. Level 8: High Density Ammo Chamber The High Density Ammo Chamber increases the Marksman's capacity for both primary and secondary ammunition. Level 10: Proximity Mines The Proximity Mines are planted and detonate upon enemy presence near the mine. Level 10: Electrostatic Orbs Bonus 1 The Electrostatic Orbs Bonus makes the orbs last longer then they previously did. Level 12: L23 Fareye The L23 Fareye sniper rifle chambers a .303 Mk 10 round with a muzzle velocity of 3400 feet per second. With its combination of power and accuracy it is currently the most effective long range weapon in the world. Level 12: Snake Eyes Player gets to fire two charges from the Pulse Cannon . When the berserk is activated the Pulse Cannon will be equipped until those shots are fired. Level 14: Shock Supressor The Shock Supressor reduces the Marksman's recoil and allows faster bursts of fire. Level 16: Assault Pack The spec ops Assault Pack increases the number of ammunition clips and grenades you can carry for all weapons. Level 18: Auger The Chimera assault rifle is capable of firing through solid walls. Its thermal imaging technology allows you to see hidden enemies. The secondary fire deploys a force barrier that protects you from enemy projectiles. Level 20: Electrostatic Orbs Bonus 2 The Electrostatic orbs will now last longer then previously did. Level 22: Hawkeye Scope The Hawkeye scope attachment gives the Marksmen increased accuracy and magnification when aiming. Level 24: Voltaic Body Armor The spec ops Voltaic Body Armor absorbs incoming projectile energy which boosts ammo regeneration. Level 26: Mag-Propulsion Barrel The Mag-Propulsion Barrel uses an internal copper coil to create a magnetic impulse that stabilizes and accelerates the bullet. This results in increased range and higher head shot damage. Level 28: Bellock The Bellock fires a self-detonating canister of pressurized explosives. THe secondary fire launches a napalm charge that ignites on contact setting fire to anything in its blast radius. Level 30: Psychokinetic Helmet The Psychokinetic Helmet increases the durration of all our berserks. Soldier Level 1: HVAP Wraith The HVAP Wraith is capable of firing 1200 rounds per minute. Its secondary fire deploys a portable force barrier that shields you from enemy projectiles. Level 1: Ironheart Reduces enemy damage to the player significantly for duration of berserk. Level 2: Rossmore 238 The Rossmore 238 double-barreled combat shotgun is designed for close-quarters warfar. The secondary fire uses both barrels for an even more powerful attack. Level 4: Overload Once activated the berserk will last for 24 seconds and upon dealth or experation of time, it will detonate the person, though it wont result in a death for that person. Level 6: Kinetic Gloves The soldiers Kinetic Gloves give you faster reload on all weapons. Level 8: High Capasity Ammo Belt The High Capasity Ammo Belt increases the Wraith's ammo capacity. Level 10: Auger The Chimera assault rifle is capable of firing through solid walls. Its thermal imaging technology allows you to see hidden enemies. The secondary fire deploys a force barrier that protects you from enemy projectiles. Level 10: Shield Bonus 1 The Shield Bonus 1 will now make it so that the shield is larger and has 20 more shield ammo. Level 12: Backlash The damage taken by the soldiers shield is then returned to that enemy that shot it as damage done. Level 12: Air Fuel Grenades The Air Fuel Grenade creates a cloud of gas that ignites in a firey blast. Level 14: Advanced Timing Motor The Advanced Timing Motor allows the Wraith to spin up faster and tightens its bullet spread. Level 16: Assault Pack The soldier's Assault Pack increases the number of ammunition clips and grenades you can carry for all weapon types. Level 18: Bullseye The Chimeran Battle rifle shoots homing tags that cause subsequent shots to hit the tagged target. Use the secondary fire to shoot a homing flag then finish off the target with the primary fire. Level 20: Shield Bonus 2 Shield bonus 2 makes it so that the shield is larger then before and it has an additional 20 more shield ammo Level 22: Titanium Barrels The Titanium Barrels upgrade gives the Wraith increased damage and a longer range of effectiveness. Level 24: Voltaic Body Armor The soldiers Voltaic Body Armor absorbs incoming damage and converts it into voltage that charges your force barrier. Level 26: Precision Scope The Precision Scope increases the Wraith's accuracy and range. Level 28: Laark Arocket launcher that shoots rockets that as an alternate fire can be turned into 20-30 mini-rockets that seek the nearest enemy. Level 30: Psychokinetic Helmet The Psychokinetic Helmet increases the durration of all our berserks. Medic Level 1: Phoenix The Phoenix shoots a steady ray of energy that heals the carrier, but also transforms this energy into a healing burst that can be used on others Level 1: Ring of Life The Ring of Life provides healing regeneration in an area. Place them strategically to help fortify a position. Level 2: M5A2 Carbine The M5A2 Folsom Carbine is the standard issue assault rifle for the Sentinel program. It has a rapid automatic fire and a 40mm rocket propelled greade as its secondary fire.. Level 4: Chloroform The Chloroform berserk when activated paralyzes the infilcted enemy. Level 6: Kinetic Gloves The Medic's Kinetic Gloves give you faster reload on all weapons. They also increase the energy drained from enemies with the Phoenix. Level 8: High Density Bioplasm Chamber This upgrade allows the Phoenix to store more bioplasm energy. This results in more secondary fire shots that can heal allies. Level 10: Rossmore 238 The Rossmore 238 double-barreled combat shotgun is designed for close-quarters warfar. The secondary fire uses both barrels for an even more powerful attack Level 10: Phoenix Bonus 1 Phoenix primary beam will jump to 1 additional enemy, Level 12: Phoenix Ash. The Phoenix Ash allows the medic to revivel themselves after dying Level 14: Bioplasm Tracking Tech This upgrade to the Phoenix allows its healing bioplasm projectiles to better track toward allied targets Level 16: Assault Pack The Medic's Assault Pack allows more grenades and more clips for alternate weapons. It also increases the medic's health regeneration when attacking enemies with the Phoenix. Level 18: HE.44 Magnum The HE.44 Magnum is a close range chimeran pistol that shoots exploding bursts when detonated by alternate fire button. Level 20: Phoenix Bonus 2 The Phoenix Bonus 2 makes it so that the beam will jump to one more additional enemy Level 22: Bio-amp Scope This upgrade increases the aiming range of the Phoenix and also broadens the range of healing effects for the secondary fire. Level 24: Voltaic Body Armor The Medic's Voltaic Body Armor absorbs incoming damage and converts it into voltage that charges your Phoenix's bioplasm energy. Level 26: Leech Barrel The Leech Barrel upgrade increases the Phoenix's range and its damage to enemies. Level 28: V7 Splicer The V7 Splicer fires razor-sharp blades, slicing through anything unfortunate enough to be on the recieving end. Its secondary mode locks the spinning blade in the chamber, allowing a supercharged blade attack. (DOT damage over time secondary) Level 30: Psychokinetic Helmet The Psychokinetic Helmet increases the durration of all our berserks. ------------- Quote: Level 10: Electrostatic Orbs Bonus 1 The Electrostatic Orbs Bonus makes the orbs last longer then they previously did. I didn't know I got longer lasting orbs. Nice. Should help me get faster exp. Quote: Level 18: Auger The Chimera assault rifle is capable of firing through solid walls. Its thermal imaging technology allows you to see hidden enemies. The secondary fire deploys a force barrier that protects you from enemy projectiles. Shoot man, I forgot about Auger's shield. With that I won't be depending on the Soldier's shield so much like a pet rat that spit out ammo. I need to do a old ffxi 3hr exp burn session to get some spec ops levels. >< I get so many silly parties and tanks that yell out "I need some Ammo!" piss me off. I'm on a stinkin timer, and I keep tapping O like no tomorrow to dish out the crack. So much like refresh addicts. Edit----------------------------------------------------------- DING level 11. 1 more to go for new shiny. I wonder whats so awesome about 2 shots of the Pulse Cannon. It would have to be way awesome for me to get rid of my invisible hide3. I love using that and going behind a group of enemies and just empty all of my ammo in them while remaining hidden. It also keeps me alive when I'm in trouble. This better be some seriously powerful stuff. I'm still not looking froward to fareye much (sniper rifle. Yes like marksman but marksman has a useful alt fire, and rapid weaker shots). It's 2am dang. This is not gewd. |

Post subject: | Re: Resistance 2 "Ammo Please!" "I need some Ammo!" |
Spec Ops is a stinking beast. Finally got my assault pack and I'm now an unstoppable force. I can now worry about shooting and such now that I get a extra ammo box to throw. Also I get a extra mine, and because I can throw 1 extra ammo I get a better chance for the grenade ammo box which means more mines. I can't imagine the other bonuses I'll have access to later in the game. I'm a monster! The medic still tore my score apart however. Medics that heal everyone, and do a great job get a lot of exp. Auger might be here sooner than I thought. Mwahaha. I hope they expand co op. I'd buy the crap out of that type of DLC. You hear me Insomniac Games!? Edit: Ignore my accuracy XD Edit: again and ignore my accuracy again. I'd have better accu, but I can't focus on DDing and keeping the tanks ammo'd up at the same time efficiently enough. I take shots when ever I'm free to and I spray like no tomorrow. I'm made of ammo anyway, it don't matter if I miss. Finally beat the medics. Trowing a lot of ammo, and using auger is where it's at. Auger does less dmg, and give less exp per shot but I guess it's fast enough to out pace the level 18 marksman? |
