I love my ps3 despite the fact that I rarely play it. Are there any good RPG's out for it yet? I have Sonic the Hedgehog, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Tiger Woods 07'. I like them all a ton, but I'm dying for something with a real story. |

Word on the street is that Oblivion is an awesome game. It's a rpg, but I have no idea what the story is like. Ask mefya. Don't be afraid to pick up ps2 games. They also load faster on PS3. If you haven't played god of war 1 or 2 yet get them. Especially god of war 2. You will grow 3 inches of hair on your chest after just the first chapter. Not sure how good Ninja Gaiden Sigma's story is, but it's a action game that people went crazy over. Darkness seem to.. nvm it probably had a sucky story (comic book game). Don't get Enchanted Arm, it sux sux sux. Also, sell sonic, that game sux also what the crap dood. Dang nice Oraphin D: And lol Safer. Edit: Oh vedder I hear Enchanted arms is $20 now or something. It's a horrible game vs FFXII but if you just want to try it, it's darn cheap. But yea, Odin Spear (PS2), or god of wars is betta. Also get Super Stardust HD, it's darn fun. I would game share it with you but someone shared it with me and I can't. I can give you calling all cars though (I have like 2 more of those I can give away. Tyriac wasn't able to get it I guess). |

It's kinda an e-payment. Paypal is an intermediary that I remember from ebay. I think it's just a payment company that handles internet purchases and verifies that everything is legit. Not positive on this, or how it works for that matter, but I'm sure the site has information. www.paypal.com Also, I have none of those games. |

New info from a japanese magazine Famitsu. Someone in the ls can read Japanese I'm sure (eudon, scor, Amylea, Ris, Juvant, Jaye) Quote: Rough translation (Originally from 8/10/07 issue of Famitsu)
http://www.famitsu.com/interview/article/2007/08/01/668,1185973654,76199,0,0.html Key points from the interview: # The game that could be released on 10/24/2007 to coincide with the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Being that this years Tokyo Motor Show will be "revolutionary" for Japanese automakers debuting their brand new sports cars. # Various new online features will be announced and the game will be playable at the Leipzig show this month # GT:HD Concept will be removed from the PSN network when Prolouge is released # GT Prolouge will be Home compatible # There will be a "My Page" screen selectable from the title. Having given the online race component a lot of thought, the "My Page" will store your friends list, even calender, ranking etc. The online component will try to build an online community like social networking sites like "My Space", "Mixi" (Japanese MySpace equivalent) # While the game is called "Grand Turisimo Prologue" it will be less like an arcade mode but closer to a simplified version of "Grand Turismo Mode" in the other GT games; making money, buying cars, etc. # It will be a Grand Turismo "World". In the final version they would like to have people be able to walk around a town and look at cars. They will creating each detail of the city as well as the car. Other then Tokyo they will have scenic views like natural environments as well. # GT:Prologue will have 40 cars and 4 race tracks (8 different configurations). Including tracks not seen before. # When asked about downloadable content, he responds "now right now, but likely later on". When asked if the "Grand Turismo Award" winners from the 2006 SEMA shown in Las Vegas will be available; tuned 1960 Corvette and HKS CT230R Yamauchi responds, "I think one of the them. " # Cockpit view will be available. If you are using the steering wheel you can look around in the cockpit using the d-pad. For instance, it the Ferrari F430 you can appreciate the shine off the carbon fiber and the quality of the black leather seats. You can tell the quality difference in the leather of the Ferrari versus other cars. # In Grand Turismo 5 you will be able to fully customize the interior. # Depending on which car you drive your clothing will be different. Different helmet designs and other details that relate to the car manufacter. #There will be 16-cars on track for a full grid race. At present they are trying to figure out how many people can play against each other simultaneously online. For online, that number may shrink to 12. # B-spec Mode is planned for GT5, it is unclear if it will make GTP. # Grand Turismo Prologue save data will be usable in Grand Turismo 5; including any money you earn in GT:P will be transfered to GT5. . . .Also Grand Turismo Prologue site has been updated with new screens last week. http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/gt5p/screen/ [/QUOTE] |

So, my co-worker seems to think that XBOX 360 > PS3. Now, i'm sold on getting a PS3 after seeing a preview of "Little Big Planet" "Killzone 2" "Heavenly Sword" etc.. and also their rendition of "Home" OS. Why in the world would 360 prevail over PS3? I mean, I see the HD-DVD, though - he says that the Blueray is going to not catch on. |

Since this is a PS3 game and the gaming thread is just me posting news. I came across this stress test of PS3 today that a website or something did (found it on the forums I didn't go looking for it). http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/sony/playsta ... 288977.php Quote: With all the coverage of how the Xbox 360s are failing left and right in the past few months, there hasn't been much coverage of how sturdy the PS3 is. PS3 Vault took a PS3 into harsh environments, continuously using it for 108 hours with various games and Blu-ray movies. Their findings? The PS3 is pretty much indestructible. The guys did three tests, one at room temperature, one down at 0 degrees F (below zero), and one at 120F. Besides slight condensation on the cord in the cold and a burning smell in the heat, the PS3 actually held up perfectly fine. It went back to a working environment and plays just like normal. Since it's summer and I have my PS3 in a small room (office size) when my air wasn't working right I couldn't play my PS3 because I couldn't take the heat, the ps3 could survive though. PS3 1, me 0. It's nice to know I can throw it in a closet to itself so it burn it's own room up next time it happens (my air conditioner). About the PS3 and 360. 360 has a lot more games out for it, it was launched earlier and in haste due to MS seeing that PS2 did well for launching early, and xbox had a graphics chip in it that was costing MS too much money due to a bad deal. Just like PS2's launch vs Dreamcast current library at ps2's launch. But now people are port crazy and throwing 360 games on PS3 instead of making original stuff, good thing Sony's first party is competent. If you like games from sony's first, and second party you should be fine with PS3. They seem to be doing some crazy stuff with the ps3 as they figure out how to make it sing, just like ps2 (from sky odyssey to god of war2). Also once you go to blu-ray and HD-dvd it's hard going back. Well Live Earth type of HD, not stuff packed on HD disks and not really HD like old movies in black and white and crap coded remastered movies. The reason I got a PS3 is I had over 30 PS2 games, and 2 PS2/two. Also it's online is free although not as integrated as live is for the moment (firmware 2.0 and home around the corner). I need the next team Ico game, GT, Socom, ratchet and clank (their new game resistance is great and can't wait for resistance2, check out the resistance thread that just hit 10,000 posts. A insomniac employee got the 10,00th post lol. Resistance is a fps but it's one of the best online MP games on consoles, until warhawk is released!), possible Twisted Metal PS3, etc. Also I gotta get MGS4 and FFXIII. 360 is great, it has a good number of games now, and you can get one for around $275 though you'll need a memorycard that seem to be expensive. Microsoft has xbox locked down as far as prehiperals go. I think you can only use their products. |

BUT THE XBOX360 WILL NEVER DIE!!!11 WE HAVE HALO! Seriously Microsoft owners and users, shut the fuck up for once. I can't announce that I have a PS3 anymore without having someone lisp out through the forest of Bill Gates' sack-hair that the Xbox 360 is the new premier gaming system and that the PS3 will never compare to it. Listening to people talk about how bad playing FFXI is on 360 while I zip around on my outdated PS2 is really encouraging to the platform as well, I'm sure. I bet the market for PS3 titles is going to raise exponentially considering they dropped the price of PS3 60 GB. Meh, the only people that complain are people who had XBOX 360 before PS3 came out and are trying to validate their own miserable existence through their next-gen gaming machine. /endrant |

Also if you do get a PS3, please connect it online unlike vedder, and get Stardust HD then add me to your friends list. I've been stuck at 73mil points and I need more motivation to get more (although I try passing 73mil everyday. I just have been sucking). It's a darn good game, one of the best PSN download games $10 USA. I would trade it to you but I got it from someone on my friends list. I only have calling all cars for now (another great one but no stat tracking so people just hop on and off randomly to play unless you set up events with your friends). Edit: lol vedder |

I'm just waiting until PS3 has a sizable library of games that I want to play and won't blow through in a month. Plus, the price is still dropping so I'm wasting my time playing my 360 (and Bioshock, omfg this game rocks my balls) and Wii at the moment. There's no doubt in my mind that once PS3 starts to roll, it's going to steamroll right over 360 fanboys. It's just REALLY slow at starting up atm. |
