It's a shame that this game's story is forgetable because the battle system is awesome. Chain 150 in my sleep + steal being worth a button press and increased dropped loot due to high chains are awesome (TH2.2 eat your heart out). Also getting buffs randomly due to the high chains is a awesome idea.

Noticed the ffxii thread isn't in this new forum when I went searching how to beat the first doom wall. Need me some Demon slayer. Although I should skip it as I like going into battles a little underpowered.

I always thought there was no chance of killing it without mists. Going to stop meriting* for more mist levels. Maybe even look into abilities that I thought were useless like Sight Unseeing (Deals some kind of attack when blinded), and Stamp (gives a enemy one of the negative effect that's on you). Guess I shall stop pushing my way through the game by force (I beat the game once just replaying. I'm on ps3 this time so I couldn't transfer the file easily from a PS2 memory card).

The only thing about the armor/weapon system that I'm not liking is that they don't show the full stats before you buy them. Also the bazaar don't even show what's in those collections/bags/what the crap is a hunters set. Love the game, hate this as it makes me spend unnecessary gil often.

There need to be a firmware update on ps3 that lets you view the web browser while you're playing ps1 and ps2 games. Mortal Kombat 2 does it and some other games (Warhawk does it but only lets you view the Incognito website).

Edit: I forgot that I needed Traveler for that mist strategy. Supposed to have opened with traveler, then mist it to death. But after seeing that it's possible to kill it without mist, and solo even, I don't want to take that easy way out.

I might have to get back into playing this again until my new monitor/video card are purchased.

Ya i had the most trouble with Zodiark. Even more so than Fafnir, Behemoth King & Yiazmat. Even with absorb dark gear on i still got raped a lot. I managed to beat it 1st time but it was a bitch! I almost beat Yiazmat in 1 go as well. But i ran out of stop meds :<<<<<

Went to play with omega and got face raped. Tht thing hits hard. I need to go beat it so i can have tht Wyrmhero Blade thing.

Is there a website any of you know of with FFXII challenges and such on? Like rules for leveling, challenges on fighting HNMs with certain limitations (to make things more fun and less cake walking). I have been keeping two mage characters only, with one being heavy on nukes and arcana, and the other being support, high healing. With only having two people that can cure well (the nuker can cure just as good but won't have curaja and anything higher than cura) things are a lot more interesting.

I love berserk right now. Rips through mobs since I have a dedicated melee with no job tech skills, and melee. He has all of the melee damage licenses, 10% haste licenses, and hp + licenses. The dude wreck things. PLD types are straight foward. Decoy, some cure spells, Protect, and shell, all the shield licenses, and hp.

I'm also thinking of capping my at some level and using those no exp amulets to stay there.

LOL the last guy is a fkn pussy. Well he was after i beat Yiazmat. I have most of the final weapons as well tho. Danjuro, Yagyu Darkblade, Tournesol, Sagitarius, Masamune (paired with Genji Gloves ), Gastrophetes (sp?), Staff of the Magi, Rod of Faith, etc o.o.

The ending is nice tho. But srsly the last boss was nothing.

The main challenge i can think of for the game is the 123 challenge. Where u keep ur characters (from the top of the menu screen to the bottom) @ 1,2,2,3,3,3. U do this by equipping an acessory tht makes them get no exp for kills. There are FAQ's for the 122333 (low level) challenge. I am just too lazy to look them up lol.

My chars on 12 were:
Vaan = Tank
Basch, Balthier & Fran = DD (swapped everytime one leveled.
Ashe & Penelo = Mages (swapped on lvling again)

I found this better than having just 1 strong team & 1 reserve, took more leveling but was more effective imo.

Wait so 1 person was level 1, 2 were level 2, and 3 were level 3? Those are very low levels, but I guess having all of the licenses open to them helped the low level. What does each new level give anyway? Str, vit, and speed like stats?

Each new level increases ur stats, HP/MP etc. The levels 122333 are read as u go down ur character list on the menu. I.E Vaan= lvl 1; Balthier & Fran = lvl 2; Basch, Ashe & Penelo = lvl 3.

I so want to play this again... my PS2's are fried though... and I'm not buying a PS3 for awhile till FF13 (still hopeing its mutli platform though really). Hate how SE went back to the old equipment style though with weapon + shield + helm + body + accessory.

Most FF games u only get weap, armor & accessory. 12 had more, unless u r trying to count 11 as a normal FF game which really it isn't. I just ur armor changed when u equipped diff stuff tho.
Also I am doubtful about it being multi platform. Look @ the FF series since 7. PS onry (bar spin offs, like tht one for 12 on DS right?). Can always hope tho.

Fafnir fight took me quite a while to figure out what I was doing, even though I didn't wipe to it a single time. Use that rock to your advantage...I just kept nuking with one char while beating on it with another I think. I forget the exact strategy but it worked out well for me. That was one of the most fun fights in that game imo, moreso than Nidhogg even.

KB was a fun fight too, but that place was fkn scary as hell when I first started in on it. I remember thinking those enemies in that zone were super hard. I think I may re-pick up this game. I have been inspired.

The skin is easy to get again. But the bazaar has a memory. So as long as u don't buy anything else tht requires a skin it will still count towards everything tht needs it.

I am guessing from tht comment u want Tournesol. I got this the pwn way only getting part of the stuff u need by using the bazaar memory ^.-

I found Fafnir easy tbh. Jus stick reflect on ur whole pt, a opal ring on ur mage (or tht one tht bypasses reflect if tht is rong), and ranged weapons on all ur chars. Tht way Faf never even hits u and only casts magic on u. Which is refected back to him

KB was pretty fun tho. But clearing those 2 zones to pop hurt my face. Esp as u don't have a map for them -.-
