Okeys, I told you a few things about Folklore, Orange box, and Pixel Junk Monsters. Now that I'm on the PC and have the power of youtube I'll put together a better explanation of these games.

Folklore (action/adventure/rpg)
Ign video review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ozxFA0r8Dk

Demonstration:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ozxFA0r8Dk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3pKEIUp ... re=related boss fight

Note: This game should cost $20-$30. Don't buy it for any higher (although it's fun enough, why pay more than the new MSRP)

Pixel Junk Monsters
Preview 1upshow: http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/17248 (not youtube but it's a stream, a bit sucky on speed but you can blow the screen up to full screen, and better quality than youtube)

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BuokheJYUo

Note: Co-op play will be a great experience for you and Up. You'll both be working together to try and meat the goals (making sure none of the little villagers die from the raids). One of you might be dancing to upgrade the towers, and one of you will be collecting coins, but who will make the strategy? Who will call the shots? Will you destroy a tower by mistake causing the life of a villager? This is were the funny lie.

The Orange Box (Adventure/puzzle/competition)
Review Gamespot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm8b9CSXgAk

Gameplay Team fortress 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N_hagoLgUA
Half Life 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmAxL6qu ... re=related
Portal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TluRVBhmf8w

Note: Some sites and reviews say this game is unplayable and such because of framerate in some spots. It must have been their early preview build because I only experienced slow motion framerate in one corner of Portal if I spin my camera, and a water basement in Half Life 2 with electricity and floating debris. I do have a problem with the constant zone lines that cause loading though. The loading is 10-25seconds. That gets on my nerves if I die often, or zone by mistake.

Will list more as I must get ready to leave soon. DMC4, Ratchet and Clank, Rainbow 6 Vegas 1&2 (although you're already know you want that, it would be good to see what you're getting into), Heavenly sword, and ninja gaiden.

Also Oraphin, that new firmware update is up. Blu Ray 2.0 or something and maybe that MKV file support + other stuff. I haven't read the thread on it (just found it under a minute ago). I'll let you know if the mkv stuff and further avi (custom codec settings of avi, which is what you're anime must be) support is in.

Firmware 2.2 info so far:

Confirmed by sony as you download the update (change log)
* Playlist that were created in Music and Photo can now be copied along with the content they contain to a PSP system. You can play the content on the PSP system in the order that was set on the PS3. (The ability to copy PS3 Music and Photo playlists to a PSP system. )

* BD Profile 2.0 is now supported. With BDs that support BD-Live, you can access Internet content for the BD.

* Resume play can now be used on a BD or DVD even if the PS3 system has been turned off or the disc has been ejected. However, there are some discs on which resume play cannot be used.

* DivX content that exceeds 2 GB can now be played. Also, subtitles can now be displayed for DivX content. (was put there to try to prevent piracy I heard. Guess they said screw it because those files could be home videos and it's taking away from functionality)

What people are saying they found
*You can now display subtitles when viewing DivX files. Resume Play - begin playing a DVD or BD disc from the point where you previously stopped it, even if you eject the disc and insert a different movie or game.

*Use your PSP as a remote control to play back your music files on your PS3 without turning on your TV.

*The Internet browser now displays some web pages faster.

*[Save Target] has been added as an option under file. This option lets you save a file that is linked to a web page to your PS3 hard drive or storage media. (Unless this is another thing like [Save File], this is old and just that "save file" was renamed to "save target".

*divX subtitles now supported. Edit: It appears that you have to convert the .srt, and .sub files to divx. This is supposedly a easy task. This link was mentioned as said easy task http://userxp.tripod.com/sub2divx.htm.

I'm posting on the new and improved browser. It did load faster but it still shows the "do you want to run plugin?" prompt.

You now have control over the "settings" functions on your PS3 while remote playing. This is fucking sweet. You can change audio output on the fly from your PSP. Change PS3 themes etc from your PSP.

The streaming links is awesome!

No idea what he means by this.

the movies on quicksilverscreen stream great and they are divx movies check it out

Maybe this is what he meant. Divx now able to be streamed in the browser, not just flash video like youtube. Too bad Stage6.com is no more.

Ora, seems some anime fansubed videos are working now Read this

Dude! DIVX Compatibility was increased! My Bleach episodes and a bunch of other AVIs which weren't working before, are now working fine!

This update fixed the encoding problem the PS3 had with the dattebayo fansub videos. They no longer seem to be freezing after 44 seconds.

You should check your anime collection when you get the chance.

There is also the "Mosquito Noise Reduction" in the Menu while playing a movie. It goes up to 3. I just set it at 3 as i have the others set as 3 aswell. Not sure how much a difference it makes.

Image pointing out Mosquito noise. One of the reasons I hate looking at dvds after watching blu rays. Especially on a hdtv with a poor image quality dvd like elf, and kill bill.

Hasn't been mentioned but...

HUGE STEALTH BLUETOOTH UPDATE

My Bluetooth keyboard now works on games that previously required a USB stick to recognize (for typing text messages and whatnot). One less USB stick to clutter the front of my PS3!

Same goes for my Bluetooth mouse!

Keep in mind I've only tried this on both COD4 and UT3.

Haven't got around to Resistance yet.

Also in the ACCESSORIES menu there's now a MANAGE BLUETOOTH DEVICES menu and REGISTER BLUETOOTH BLURAY REMOTE menu as well.

--------------------------------------
Ok so overview, it seems like mkv might not be supported still (I haven't tried, it's just that no one said anything about mkv), and it seems that you have a high chance of being able to play your video collection now -the mkv. Ok I'm tired, and quit researching the new info. GL with your anime.

OMGosh. Those bleach episodes I downloaded work now. I have been converting them lately which is why I just plain stopped watching. Every since the end of the Soul Society saga the avi files I would download directly to the ps3 just wouldn't play. Now they do. wewt

Is there a website you put them on or something?

Also I now know what they mean about streaming links. Say you have a EdenInSpace.wmv link on a webpage you're viewing. If you click it a buffer screen will appear and you will be able to view the movie there full screen instead of downloading it first.

To save the file you must press Triangle, then "Save Target".

I almost said i am a little behind on bleach. But then i remembered i read the manga & am probly 2-3 months ahead lol. Gets more fkn awesome soon in the anime. Same with Naruto Shippuden. :eyecrazy:

Also X @ the .mkv support atm. Still some of the .avi show as unsuported data. Might be the DVD-R on one of them. When i get the chance i will re d/l it, see if tht helps.
