Yes/no circle one no maybes.

Do I or do I not. Never played one before so no idea what I'd be getting myself into.

It's good, it actually have some MGS like stealth in it. I like using a silenced sniper rifle to soften up a group before I get closer (gun run out of bullets). Also while sniping you have to be careful of getting mauled by a cheetah or tiger! Oh or komodo dragon, buffalo, big bird, etc. it's a jungle out there.

Oh also you have to hunt animals for upgrades and stuff (satchel to be able to carry more weapons for example).

Wait a few days and it will be cheap. Look into Hitman too, that's a good game.

I bought it. I do like all the stealth aspects and the bow and arrow a lot. I had one of the Hitman games from PS2 and it was only ok, kinda turned me off.

That said, I heard miserable things about Farcry 2 but am having a lot of fun with this. It's basically a smaller version of Skyrim in present-day without dragons and stuff. Reminds me a lot of a good Turok game; I have that for PS3 also which is only ok as well.

Wish there was more crafting options, I can tell that it's going to be a multiplayer gem but if you could customize the gear (looking at you, Snake Eater) to make combat easier.

Co-Op for this is straight G. Wish I had more people to play with, only one person on my PSN list has this and I have no idea who it is anymore...prolly some CoD random or something.

Haven't played multiplayer yet, just beat the story mode a few days ago (it's clearly not meant to be played for just story mode). Still very open, Ubisoft called it "Like Skyrim, with guns!"

PLOIS GET IT SO THAT WE MAY SLAY PIRATES

lol VD, I hardly play the PS3 anymore. I've been buying PC games since they look and run better and are way too cheap. Most are like $15. To rebuy on PS3 I'd need to pay $60, that's a hefty premium for a game that will look and run a bit lower than what I have. Also because of all the games I have pretty much burned myself out on them and I can't really stay interested in them for too long.

The main one I play is skyrim but only because I install a new mod and try it, then stop to try another mod. Currently I'm messing with a level uncap/tweaker. Enchant cap at level 999, but when I level crafts up they don't make my character level go up so I don't become too powerful. It's like I'm tuning my own world. Next up I'll be making enemies drop random strong loot, and having fafnir like battles giving dragons more power and HP.

I'm reading books next year. Ebooks + kindle fire. I'm getting old man.

I got my fair share of books in as an English major in my undergrad program, I think I earned a little time off.

For a book like Farcry 3, get at some Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.

I don't have Heart of Darkness but I have Nostromo. I just got a ton of ebooks and will work on them later. I'll look up Heart of Darkness. I plan on seeing what the Game of Thrones books are like (A Song of Ice and Fire) before the next season air on HBO.

Hmm, an excerpt from a paper about Nostromo and Heart of Darkness.

"The essential link between Joseph Conrad's novels Heart of Darkness and Nostromo is that they share the theme of Europeans entering a Third World nation in order to "save" the nation and its people in some way, but merely end up spreading their inevitably corrupting influences. Nostromo is far more complex (and much longer) work than Heart of Darkness, and uses a more intricate chronology, but the soul of the stories are the same in their portrayals of the spread of Western influences in Africa and Latin America. This is not to say that Conrad has an idealized understanding of the lives and societies in the Third World nations he fictionally examines. To the contrary, those societies are full of strife, violence, and their own brands of non-western corruption. However, what the white man brings is far worse, far more violent and corrupting, despite the fact that he seems to believe that he will be "saving" the black man or the brown man from himself and his "backward" culture. If there is a message to the two works, it is that the people of Africa and Latin America deserved to be left alone to work out their own destinies, whatever they might be, rather than to have the values and culture of the European imposed upon them."

Thing is, I don't think I know much of the story of Far Cry 3 as I didn't play it much outside of killing animals and swimming with da sharks!

A new game coming to PC.. Next gen is going to be amazing. I just want to look at the pretty graphics. Give me historic tours like that Cry engine Titanic recreation. Add Bioshock like audio tapes that have a guy or gal talking about the significance of the room, dinosaur, statue, rock, etc. Man I wish educational stuff was very popular. I like random information, and this virtual tour stuff could get people interested all from the comfort of their home.

Gaming is going to be pretty awesome in a month visually. Cry Engine 3 looks impressive Snake, er I mean Toad.

That video pretty much shut down the graphics of a heavily modded Skyrim. Now I need better hardware for this game, until then, there's Far Cry.. oh wait, I just realized Far Cry is related to Crysis and Cry Engine. It's like a big party or something (though Far Cry 3 isn't made with Cry Engine 3).

I've been reading a bit about this DLC for a few weeks now, sounds pretty risky but the concept is awesome.

May actually pick it up.
