Some old PC favorites not to be overshadowed by console games. I've been a PC gamer since the age of 6, at the dawn of the IBM PS/2 286 with a whopping 10MHz and a FULL ONE MEGABYTE OF RAM. It came with DOS 5 pre-installed and ready to go (!) and it was amazing.

1987: King's Quest
1988: King's Quest IV - The Perils of Rosella
1989: Prince of Persia
1989: Hero's Quest/Quest for Glory 1
1992: Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers
(some of the funnier lines from Space Quest IV)
1993: Return to Zork
1993: Sam & Max Hit the Road
1993: Star Wars - Rebel Assault
1993: 7th Guest (this was a damned creepy game at the age of 13 D:)
1993: Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers (CD-ROM)
1994: Quest for Glory IV - Shadows of Darkness (CD-ROM)
1997: Curse of Monkey Island

There were so many great ones, this is only a partial list, and I'm too lazy to really fill it out right now. But that said, this is at present a very good list, imo. :P

All the nostalgia of digging up video of old favorites has led to me Googling the hell out of the titles and looking around to find out if anyone was remaking them. Much to my surprise... Not quite to the level of quality of even Quest for Glory IV (I loved the musical scores and voice-over narratives), but it's a start. Still hoping that one day, a major game studio takes these old, but great titles under their wing and breathes some new life into them.

http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html

Anonymous Game Developers Interactive is a game development group with the rare combination of talent and motivation. Our team of dedicated members is devoted to bringing adventure games back into style, and has the ambition to make this dream a reality.

Please sit back, relax, and visit the official AGDI site. We are excited to bring back the spirit of adventure gaming through our work.

WHAT IS AGD INTERACTIVE?
Anonymous Game Developers Interactive, AGDI for short, is a group of highly motivated individuals determined to revive the adventure game genre. Our aim is to remake classic Sierra On-Line adventure games, enhance them to modern standards, and then offer them as free downloads. We believe that adventure games must not be forgotten, and this is our attempt to keep the classics alive in a gaming market that is presently dominated by first person shooter and arcade shooter games.

AGDI has the drive, talent, project management skills, and motivation to accomplish what we set out to do. We take our work seriously and believe that teamwork, willpower, and motivation are the three most important keys to success. The proof of our claims? In the time of a few short years AGDI has released three highly successful remakes and is now working on our most anticipated project yet. Visit our Games page to find out what all the hype is about.

However, it is not only by remaking classics that the adventure game genre will be revived. We have also formed a commercial adventure games company called Himalaya Studios. If you enjoy our remakes, please consider purchasing our commercial title “Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman’s Mine” as a show of support.
