Quote:
When we initially designed and implemented the auction houses, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as we've mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot. With that in mind, we want to let everyone know that we've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III

Got an email about it. Still going to be awhile before this is implemented, but yeah, might get me back into it a little.

I just completed the DLC. Incredibly short at about an hour.

HAHAHA so I played for like 40 minutes and literally every single drop I got was worth more than all my stuff combined...did they make gear THAT much better or something? I need a little direction here ;( I don't even remember what difficulty I'm supposed to play on.

The difficulty is now dynamic with your level. The game setting difficulty is just changing the monster level. They show you the bonuses you get for picking higher levels (normal - master = gold%+ and exp%+, while Torment 1-6 is increasing legendary drop chance by some amount which may be very small and a chance at level 70 stuff which is not in the game yet).

You can effectively farm on normal since it drop the ilvl 63 stuff. ilvl was removed from the game tool tip but you can tell what level the gear is by the looks, and you can see the old ilvl on the diablo profile.

I'm in a maxed out D3 clan, yesterday a small group of us tried torment lvl 4 and it whipped us good. Need better gear. My pet doctor is awesome, working a bit on wizard now, loving the game.

Also don't sell anything to the vendor, salvage everything, pick up everything, open chests (dead bodies, weapon racks) for white items!. You heard me, collect salvaged white items too.

Do not skip picking up gems, especially diamond gems. It's cheaper to craft gems now too.

So should I have any reason to have 20 million gold or should I start spending it?

You could save it if you are getting the expansion. I spent a lot of gold crafting trying to get cold damage % on gear for my freeze wizard. You probably shouldn't worry about buying stuff off of the AH. Most of it is old legacy gear that don't have the new stats, and you can just find upgrades easy.

Actually scratch that, you don't need to save money, you will be able to get a ton of money by doing the bounties in the expansion. So whatever you do it won't matter if you get the expansion:

Your gear will be outclassed.

Your gems will be replaced by free current max level gems dropping from mobs.

Who knows how you will play at level 70 so you might end up scrapping even your current build.

The only thing that kinda matters is getting paragon levels now that they have a buff, but who know there too, it might be a ton easier to get faster exp in the expansion. Especially since we are currently capped and people are just doing things over and over to grind out paragon with huge till next level that may be balanced for level 70 exp.

Wizard is OP!!!!!!!!!

Did a bit of Act 3 Torment 1 with Hoga yesterday. Was pretty fun. Haven't played in awhile, but my mnk still seems pretty good. Besides a legendary spear that was a small upgrade, I haven't replaced anything yet and my skill set is the same though there was a small nerf to one of the moves so I can't keep the dmg bonus up 100%.

Some of the new monster packs seem challenging, without necessarily being rape.

Lol I wish I was on, and if i was, I wish I wasn't away. I take hoga to Torment IV because he's a rock. He holds mobs while I melt them.

Wizard OP, broke down and got one of the soon to be super rare life steal weapons. I'll miss my Gesture of Orpheus. I took a big dps hit going life leech but I'm harder to kill and can probably do torment VI now.

I solo'ed Diablo in T4 on my pre life leech wizard and kept getting owned. It's like I was fighting M.Bison in street fighter. So many ways to die, the wizard clone could really jack me up depending on what abilities it had. I had 0 life gainers so depended on potions, orbs, and life pools. I got him and a legendary dropped, felt good. That forced me to try to get life leech though.
