Psp (it's surprising how space run out when you're making thread titles).

New psp custom theme editor. Looks neat, hope sony bring it to ps3.

Ploid, you need to get AIM or something so we can chat about how to kit out my PSP. I feel as if I am holding onto something awesome but know not what it is.

Funny thing is I don't have a psp. When I get one I won't hack it either. I support game companies that I like and want to bring out more games. But I'd be doing this theme thing since it's official.

Nopeeeeeeeee

Editted themes only work on modded PSPs (unless new slim PSPs are compatible out the box, which I doubt)

Unhacked PSPs are worthless
Hacked PSPs are conquerers of time

I'll make a guide soon for PSP owners (Amy, VD, and prolly nubstick Safer, and other peoplez) that want to customize.

Playstation japan hax? http://www.jp.playstation.com/psp/dl/to ... _eula.html

I'm sure it's coming to the US for none modded psps but people in a gaming forum are already using the JP app to put themes on their US psp.

Hrrrrm that same program has been out and updated many many times by homebrew coders... I guess Sony is finally seeing that UMDs are [mostly] failure and the 'hacking' community's products/advances are far superior to their own ideas and are now integrating them into their own ideas...

That being said, I think it's funny that you wouldn't do it if it crossed the bounds of legality but now that it's legal you'd jump on it ;o

The Sony people that work on ps3 and psp firmware and apps are very good at it, have more access to data/libraries for the hardware, and enjoy adding things like the dvd upscaler to ps3 (compares to the top and most expensive stand alone dvd upscaler boxes). There was an interview with them but I have no link, the particular dvd upscale quality was analysed by avsforums.com I think. This custom firmware thing sounds like trouble waiting to happen. You could possibly end up not being able to update to a new firmware after a ps3 firmware update not having whatever feature. There is a chance of bricking it also. But the main reason to get this custom firmware is to pirate games. What good is it to have a psp if everyone pirate the games, causing even less games to be made on the system (although sony's first party will be required to). Ah, but we get free gamez!!!

Back to $60 games for me. If more people bought the games instead the industry would have been healthier. PC Bioshock anti piracy prob.

so ploid, since you are the video game guru, i must ask for you opinion.

i am 50/50 on getting a ps3.

thoughts?

i have all other consoles, and you can assume that i am ballin' and rollin' in greens so $$$ is not an issue. ya dig?

If you have all that money and all those other consoles I'd say skip it and hook up your entertainment center. Bigger 1090p tv, sick 7.1 surround sound, and if you still have money, get the 40gig ps3 ($400) and pick up resistance if you like fps, motorstorm if you like racing, ratchet and clank future if you like awesomeness, heavenly sword if you like awesome god of war type fighting with a awesome story and delivery. Then get some good* blue ray movies and feel pwn. But you're in college if I recall correctly. One console is pushing the limit already.

Ohh Wowhawk!

Edit: seriously though. Having all consoles are for old people that are retired. There's no way it should take you more than one console to satisfy you. eyecrazy

Post subject:  Re: For Safer and his little P

i already have a sony 37" 1080i HDTV with 5.1 surround.

but i need an HD DVD player though......

thats sufficient for an apartment. on second thought, i wouldnt have time to play it, and the 400 bucks i would save by not getting a ps3, i could use to pay next months rent.

btw, i have a wii, and i have 1 game on it. but that wii sports/baseball keeps me occupied for hours. definitely worth a buy, but im sure you have one already...

Nah I only have PS3 and PS2 systems. Will think about getting wii for my nephew when he get like 6 or 7 (1y old now). I don't want to look silly playing wii around room mates and company. How does wii look on a HDTV? I know PS2 looks horrible, well through HDMI. I haven't tried S-video, and component as I don't have those cables.

1080i? You need to get a 720p or 1080p for dem games.

Post subject:  Re: For Safer and his little P

i cant afford 1080p...

this 1080i already cost me $1100 when i got it.

but the wii doesnt have high def outputs, or at least i dont think, so it looks pretty shitty on widescreen. regardless, its fun.

you feel like an idiot when you first pick up the wiimote, but then you realize...

no shame in my game...

Post subject:  Re: For Safer and his little P

wii doesn't go up to 1080p

forget how high it does go, but if you use component cables it does look a lot better (and by that i mean pretty awesome) (o and yes i have a HDTV :> 46inch)
