New Lair videos. I don't know which one it is but one has the sound sampling they took from animals in the zoo. Was pretty cool to see, and there was one animal in it that I never expected to sound so evil. Look too cute, but I still wouldn't mind having one D:

WoW plays much better with a mouse and keyboard than it ever could with a controller imo <_<

That has a bit to do with every class having like 30+ abilities, though

FPS is definately better with a mouse and keyboard, not even a contest.

Everything works better with 360... except most of the original Xbox games... and FFXI. Other than that, everything works better >o

New Super Stardust HD game came out yesterday (PSN 7.99). Having a lot of fun in bursts. Easy to pick up and put down, well maybe not put down if you're trying to break someone's score. It's darn deep for a shooter up (Schump or whatever the kids call it these days to not get it confused with games like serious sam, fps, contra and such. Although maybe Contra is the same type game and I'm just confusing it myself). Anyway, it's a asteroid type game. Very addicting and fun even if I don't do too good. Awesome graphics also.

Vid here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66NwTKJhjc8 of a guy doing a good job.

Quote from a great shump player.

okay... i'm a big *Blah blah* fanboy. if you're on my *bloop* friends list you should know that (all 12 *bing* and 4 million score). now that it's out of the way, super stardust HD > *blah blah*.

here are a few reasons i think why.
* selectable, upgradable weapons - very raiden-like where upgrades change according to their duration on on the field (and the game actually tells you how much % each weapon is upgraded)
* weapons are situational - according to what type of rocks or enemies you're shooting, there is an optimal choice of weapon to help you finish the job off.
* better graphics - wow. that's all i have to say.
* soundtrack rocks - if you're into electronic music, it's bangin'
* boss battles - probably a weak point of the game (some bosses are repeated), but a nice inclusion nonetheless
* more enemy variety (they actually fire back at you)
* boost ability (break through tough situations)
* score is not only calculated by # of baddies shot, but by gathering physical points on the field
* multiple ways to gain a high score
* multiple environments - 5 planets to choose from, each with their own set of baddies

the game is very rich and deep for an arcade robotron style shooter. i've downloaded all the *blah blah* style games on both the 360 and PS3, and i've been waiting for a successor to it... SSHD is it. period. *blah blah* 2 better be some fantastic shit because it just got owned.

i scored 15 million my first run through. hoping to build on that tonight. add me if you wanna compare scores (gt: hypoetical)

Where SSD really succeeds, other than it's amazing production quality and polish of course, is that it successfully merges best aspects of the most iconic western developed shooters (Asteroids, Robotron), such as their randomization of situation and player constantly affecting the ever-changing playing field around him/her, and best aspects of Japanese shooters, such as powerup system, weapons selection, bullet patterns during boss battles, etc.

It's really like East meats West or more precisely Buddha meets Jesus, and then they both shake hands and decide to help ex-Amiga demoscene guys make the game just for the hell of it. End result cannot logically be any better if you think about it.

New Socom Confrontation info and screens.

Quote:
1. What game do you have at E3 this year?
I’m working with two games at E3 this year: SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation for PLAYSTATION 3, and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike for PSP. For the purpose of answering these questions, I’ll focus mostly on our PS3 version of SOCOM.

2. What did you do on this game that you couldn’t do on another platform?
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation makes full use of the HDD in the PlayStation 3. One of the often overlooked advantages of the PS3 compared to competing platforms is that it contains a 2.5” serial ATA hard drive which allows us to use the Hard Disc Drive for extremely fast data access. Since we can count on the hard drive to be in every PS3 console, SOCOM Confrontation uses a very aggressive data streaming system which in turn allows for much greater detail in the game environments. For this reason alone, the level of detail which you will see in the environments and characters in SOCOM Confrontation is not possible on any other game console.

Take a quick look at the screenshots below for an early look at what we are able to achieve using the hard drive in the PS3. This is still pre-alpha and the quality will continue to improve as we get further into development.

3. What do you think is the coolest aspect of this game?
The environments are the real star in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation. We are focusing a lot of effort on creating intricate and highly detailed urban environments. The amount of detail in the environment will help you to easily distinguish where you are in the level and the intricacy means that you are going to discover new areas and snipe points long after you thought you had the environment memorized.

The characters are also looking really good.

At the top of the post is an in-game screenshot of our Heavy Commando model. The skin shaders, cloth shaders, normal maps, and highly detailed textures allow us to have extremely realistic characters in the game. Again, this is a work in progress.

4. If you could sit one person in front of your game for an hour, who would it be?
N’Gai Croal. He’s been a long time player of the SOCOM franchise and I would really like to discuss what he thinks about this game. It doesn’t hurt that he is also one of the best journalists writing about video games and also writes for Newsweek.

5. What game do you most want an hour to sit in front of yourself (besides your own)?
Metal Gear Solid 4. I’m very curious how the game plays compared to the videos that have been shown so far.

Theres a good chance it will come to 360 ~.O Microsoft might be able to get them to think about the 360 if they aren't already for a port.

Stardust HD related. Found this kinda funny. A UK person posting a vid of their score that got them in the top 4 which the person can't believe.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_SscphCgvs

A funny user review of stardust HD. He has problems being hit by bosses and said it's impossible to avoid it. It's very possible, he just don't know boost makes you temp invincible and thats just one of the ways to avoid getting hit while crowded. So many possibilities. Great game.

Sadly for the next-gen console gamers, Crysis won't be showing its glory to them.

Don't know why I still post game stuff but eh.

*Crisis was at E3 and looked friggin amazing. Under water looked sick.

*Crisis Core (omg I didn't set that up I swear) has a cool looking limited edition set. Redesigned psp, keychain, nike box, stuff.
Image

* Twisted Metal PS3 teaser ad? If you look closely you can see Spectre fighting Outlaw. The missiles hit a tower and there are people screamin.. ok it's just a clown face. People think it's sweat tooth as there are no bozo ps3 games planned. Twisted Metal PS3 seems like a no brainer choice of a game to be made. There was a survey on the past Twisted metal games for fans, but David Jaffe claimed it was for a "The History of Twisted Metal" documentary. This may be the worst kept secret. Please Please Please be twisted metal PS3 ; ;
Image

Another thing about twisted metal history. The original Twisted Metal used the same engine that the original Warhawk (PSx) used. And now Warhawk has a PS3 engine that feels and reminds people of twisted metal (Calling All Cars use the same warhawk PS3 engine also).

Warhawk footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEzWu-lNHgY
Calling all cars footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk0ZDow86SE
Twisted metal black (PS2) footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xrB_4_m ... ed&search=
