These spec surpass the minimum requirements, so you should be ok. In fact, these specs look a lot better than the ones my comp has at home. :<

nVidia cards work fine usually if you're on XP, but if you got Vista... unless you're lucky, you're in for a world of hurt. However, nVidia Drivers for Vista they have drivers here that you can d/l and update yours if you have any problems at all running FFXI on the nvidia card w/ Vista.

Yesterday I had driver issues with my new rig on my nVidia 8800gts and had the BSOD constantly till I d/l the new drivers and reformated and didn't bother installing the old drivers from the CD that came with it. And this was just with XP, god knows the pain if I had Vista.

that looks pretty much like the one i just got from http://www.ibuypower.com

i run FFXI pretty well with the vista driver hax. 10-12 fps in Einherjar. i havent been to dynamis yet to test it out.

a couple things about the case/frame/chassis or w/e you want to call it on a laptop. it feels pretty cheap and there is only 3 usb ports.

all 3 of mine are filled 100% of the time.

Zalman laptop cooler (it gets really hot with out, especially where you would rest your right hand to type)
cordless mouse (the touch pad can not be turned off)
wired keyboard (the keys are so fkd up on that thing.. youll understand when you try to type on it)

Slightly off topic, but is it worth getting firefox for vista? Is using explorer safe with the new os or do it still use some type of activeX that allow people to get into your PC?

Found a good first vista boot of things to do.

Even when I'm not upgrading I sux. Got a DVI to HDMI cord off ebay like before I looked at the laptop's ports. Then I noticed the laptop only had vga out (Svideo, too). I already paid for the thing, then I get the s video cord and find out VGA is HD and it would have been best to connect my laptop to the tv with a VGA to component cord. This stinkin pc crap can't be over soon enough.

I run FFXI on my work notebook, a Dell D620 with Intel graphics....certainly not a gaming laptop or video card, runs just fine - I'd bet this notebook you're looking at will run a 5 year old game very well. :D
